Watching this again a year later, and I picked up on some more details. First of all, the main character genuinely doesn't do anything wrong. He isn't a rebel, he is a model citizen who lives in a cramp environment, eats his bug meat, uses standard showers, and wears a mask. Yet, he still gets cancelled because of a single misstep. Second of all, the "graffiti" is so haunting. It looks like it is special and born out of rebellion at first glance, but it is anything but. It is corporate that is without any meaning if you look deeply at it. Even tiny acts of rebellion like graffiti have been taken over by the companies. I especially like how it looks like a rainbow at first glance, but under closer inspection, it is actually a pride flag.

Having the voice over also be in Mandarin as opposed to the traditional cyberpunk dystopia being in Japanese really demonstrates how times change lol

Its concerning that too many people in the comments don't understand the references being made in the video. The phrase "you'll own nothing. And you'll be happy..." was taken from "The world economic forum." Which is an organization consisting of the richest and most powerful companies and figures in the world. They had a video on their website that literally said that same phrase...however I believe they have since took it down. Alot of people say they don't need things to be happy. But that is not the point. The point is, they want to strip you from every possession you own and rent it back to you. If noone owns anything, then who are they renting it from? The rich and powerful. They want to create a one power government thats rules every aspect of every single person's life, on earth. They want complete dominance and obedience. And its frightening that im not even exaggerating. They have discussed these very topics when they meet annually. They even discussed using the pandemic as a catalyst to progress their agenda.
