Well, you either settle for this, try again with a different website that they won't be so inclined to resist, straight up hack them completely and force the permissions, or settle for using their IP address as an approximate location... If you do this from enough angles and with sophistication, you may get them to hit accept - for example, if you clone a website you know they like or something... Idk, probably a bunch of ways to make sure they fall for it but that's somewhat besides the point... with modern browsers being very smart, I'm not sure how many (if any) ways exist to go around this accept/decline permissions feature for geolocation...

what you can do is, make the the name of the file append with date so like $myfile = fopen("data".date('m-d-Y_hia').".txt", "w"); This way multiple devices will be saved in different files

Yeah could have used this against the thieves that stole my father's phone... oh wait, NO I COULDN'T! Presenter completely glosses over (@22:01) the fact that the person using the device would have to agree to share location for this method to work! Meanwhile, Google's Find My Phone feature worked flawlessly because we already had GPS turned on and the phone linked to his Google account. There are also numerous device tracking and security apps out there that let you nuke the device and SD card contents remotely on next startup. This is cute and all, but really not something that will serve a useful purpose in real world conditions.

@@weaselsworld Yeah but perhaps you may be glossing over the fact that the purpose to this tutorial is not to show you how to track your own device... there are like 1000 trillion billion quadrillion better ways to track your own stuff to counter thieves and losses, while this tutorial is for intrusion/spying. This is something that would be done to a girlfriend by an insecure boyfriend or parents to a kid or friend to a friend or for any reason other than trying to track an already lost or stolen device, granted that the person who stole the device would not open any links and accept any geolocation sharing anyways and as you mentioned there exist way better services for that purpose that are not browser/internet based, etc... Also, if it is your own device, all you would need to do is make it so your phone hits this website's URL by itself every 1 minute or whatever (most modern phones have a feature to automate tasks - such as Apple's iPhone where you can program it to do anything you can do yourself on the phone and even schedule it to do the action whenever you want or you can simply create your own dummy iOS/Android app, install it to your device, and have it do anything you want it to whatsoever, even to use the camera whenever it pleases by doing a combination of setup tricks and you can do this to anyone's phone who gives it to you for long enough to install something onto it - ie. a sleeping girlfriend, friend, kid, etc) and it would work just as well, all you would need to do is to agree to share location before the phone is stolen... just like you would with setting up Google's/Apple's Find My Phone feature(s). Anything that tracks geolocation via the internet uses this exact same method but perhaps with a few extra bells and whistles - so Google's works practically the same way, the only difference there is that if you download a Google app and sign into your account, the Google app simply tells your device to call the API with its geolocation data every so often or whenever you try to find its location using Find My Phone... It's the same thing, just automated and you accept the same geolocation sharing when you download the app - so what I am saying is, you can totally automate your phone to do this or any device you have control over prior to it being lost, stolen, or gifted... just depends how far you want to go and whether that makes sense for theft prevention versus just using existing apps/services... so this entire tutorial is for a different purpose - it is for how to find out where someone is without them knowing you are doing this. It is basically a privacy intrusion tactic but it is fair and not illegal given the fact that the person literally agrees to share their location, at least on browsers and devices that ask about this as not all devices will - it's a matter of using a modern browser that protects you and asks permission. You could totally exploit this on a friend's phone by asking them to see their phone to show them a meme you found, go to your own website, accept location sharing from that base URL and then you could send them anything you want and they wouldn't be asked to accept location sharing as long as you use the same base URL (ie. something.com) and you could just send them anything anytime you want their geolocation such as (something.com/somenewthing) because you already granted permission to something.com... but if you sent them somethingelse.com then they would be asked permission... so its really easy to trick someone with a tiny bit of social engineering to do this... you see where I'm kind of going with this? It is useful if you're trying to find out where someone is, you just gotta be a bit forward thinking and if you don't have access to their device then you can easily just do your best to make your website look like something they won't be able to resist accepting... a service... a game... something that requires geolocation to function properly... anything really - it's almost the same thing as websites that force you to accept cookies by placing a huge banner over the content you want to see... so you could in theory make it so only half of the content loads until they accept geolocation and then the main feature related to their place in the universe loads - ie. some map or something that you can create or whatever depending how creative you get... All I am saying is that there are ways to get around this and it all depends on how hard you try... if you're super into getting someone's location, you can always just stock them in real life by getting their IP address (does not ask to share), checking whether it is a VPN, Proxy, TOR node, and so on by using a free service, going to the IP's location, using their social media to get an idea of how they look and where they like to hang out, and then simply stalk them... and the rest is history 😄

The whole point of this video is to show you how to do this without relying on tools.
