I really did think it was Sophie hosting today with that long, luscious, flowing hair off Daniel

R is a completely different language than Rust. Rust does not have the deserialization vulnerability discussed in the video.

I saw a report on the Cisco issue with ASAs. Some admins found a great solution. (1) Unplug the device. (2) Wait 30 seconds. (3) Plug it in again. Persistent code now gone. Until the next time the ASA gets attacked. Great stopgap until you can download and install the update.

God I miss Don Pezzette on this show. I tried giving this new format a chance, but he really made this show. Dan is enthusiastic, but just no as a primary host. Sophie is cool, but also a no for this kind of content. Don was the glue for everyone I get that he's probably really busy with his day job, but I don't even care to click on these new episodes anymore. That's a shame, because it's Don's style that got me through all my IT certification training on the IT Pro site, this podcast was a delightful addition Not anymore

So that’s why I saw all those failed logon attempts to my MA account. 😮

I’m surprised that you guys are so negative about the UK laws about iot devices. Default passwords are a massive vector for threats with these devices and forcing manufacturers to actually make the device more secure from the beginning should be applauded. Relying on uses to change a poor password and make it strong is just silly and is why we have these massive bot nets of iot devices DoSing the world. The law mandates that devices have security updates available and the manufacturer should identify how long it would maintain updates for the device and many other security requirements. For decades manufacturers have proven that they were unwilling to make consumer iot devices secure and now someone is finally legislating it. I hope more countries follow suit.

There is no cybesecurity career, there is only an IT person that has decided to focus on security. If anyone tells you different, they aren't helping you. Would you trust a doctor that doesn't know how to take vital signs? Can't do a heart transplant without knowing how blood flows. Lol, college isn't the answer, drive is. The best people I've worked with are the ones that love computers and figure out things because they enjoy it. The ones that have homelabs for fun. I've employed a master's degree guy that was worthless and a high school drop out that fixed the unfixable. This might be an ITPro Tv ad, never trust the Internet.

The scary part is how this Dr. pushes the “fake it till you make it” strategy which often leaves people WAYYY overselling themselves in a way that is obvious and transparent to hiring people.

It is about time a government made a policy to ban generic default passwords. The United States could learn from this move.
@tlavalley6 днів тому
Love your show! My prediction as to why they may want it to vibrate...maybe there is a different password that they need Face ID to open? So if it vibrates the user will look at the notification and give them what they are missing?

Great info by genuine IT folk. It's the content I used to look forward to watching from TechTV. I'd love to hear about the recent wastewater plant incidents. A question every article I've read never asks, "Why was this connected to the internet?" Love the show!

The host, Daniel Lorie, is an anarchist and anti-government Libertarian. You'll never hear him say anything positive about government in general, but especially our American government. Don't bother trying to figure it out, he's just a cynic

Great video. Are yall familiar with the weird ascii character right to left trick to hide an .exe or .msi extension in windows? scary stuff. I bet that's how they did the .msi as a zip so effective. it runs it silently and still opens the zip. they use winrar in the process to i think. That exploit mustve been there FOREVER

Gamer here, many many times when I get cheat codes (mainly older games back in the day) was to make it more fun, like infinite ammo, or god mode, or super jumps, stuff like that. However if it is competitive game specially online, thats just wrong and unethical unless you are on a server specifically to play with cheats which needs to be clearly informed to all players before joining.
