This is exactly what I'd try and find a way to do if I lived in Equestria: give every pony the option of becoming an alicorn if they choose to, so no one needs to be left out of experiencing all the wonders of Equestria firsthand. I'd also see if maybe there's a way to reverse engineer the Cutie Pox (or use another method) to enable instant mastery of skills without the negative side effects. It would be like that episode where everyone was made "equal", only this time done the right way. So no one loses, and everyone gains.
