The jokes were so very lame, the animation so very minimal...the only reason I loved this as a kid in the '60's were the songs... you suffered through the stupid epidodes just to hear the songs which were clever adaptations made to be kid and family friendly...

Brilliant!!

Sounds like John didn't think that much of his own work.

I have lived growing up in the 60's, 70's and the 80's listening to some of the best songs ever. I still listen to all my favorite songs of yesteryear and also some of today's music. But nothing beats those great songs of the past. This goes out to everyone who loves the songs of yesteryear.

such a remarkable person. He is equal to a Mozart of our age and we are lucky to be on the planet the same time as him. So glad I got to see him live including his performance of this song, my favourite of the Wings era

About year before this they played to an audience of 14 in a hall down south of London, in a town where they were unknown. No hysteria, no nothing.

John probably hadn't seen this footage since 1962, if he even saw it then. This was around the time Niel Aspinal had started looking for any old beatles footage he could get. The Beatles wanted all the TV, film, interviews, and performances they could get in order to archive their career. That's why they had so much stuff for the Anthology in 1995. Old footage or recordings still shows up from time to time. Its a good thing people recognized what they were seeing and hearing, and thought it would be worth holding on to.
