Thank you for the video, it is darn near exactly what I was looking for. If I were to suggest adding things, it would be to give the part number of the transistor you are using, and to show how you got the base impedance. I looked at the datasheet for the transistor I want to use and low and behold it has a piece of a smith chart showing the resistive and reactive components at a few different frequencies. There seems to be a trend so I think it is safe to interpolate a bit at least between the marked points. Thank you again for the video.

Hey Gregory, excelent video. Congratulations. I need your help! You've talked about a "blow filter" in a old video. Where can I found that content?
@bayareapianist6 днів тому
Could you please letm me know what's the usage of log amplifier? For a regular amp, you want to have as linear as possible. Thanks.
@AllElectronicsChannelДень тому
Any application where you are measuring very weak signals in conjunction with large signals... how can you visualize a signal that is 0.000001 with other that is 100? Log scales!
@xx-mz2eg6 днів тому
Hi, sorry but I still do not have clear idea what noise temperature is. So is it defined for amplifier or antenna out of blue or it depends on physical temperature? How to measure it?
@AllElectronicsChannelДень тому
The noise temperature is the temperature a resistor would need to be at, for generating the same amount of noise power that a circuit generates.
@NusratYasmin21257 днів тому
is it possible to extract the data in average mode from the scope?
@AllElectronicsChannelДень тому
Yes!

There needs to be a coil calculator which puts out parameter spectrums/ranges (of interdependent/covariant variables) depending on how many variables you determine/collapse. Coils can look very differently yet show the same frequency. I would've liked to set the frequency and then narrow down on other parameters by setting materially determined (available) parameters like wire radius, top load dimensions to then move on to "turn number", coil circumference. but there's no such calculator available and I'm too slow of a learner to produce it

I also experiment with VCOs I am a hobbyist and I once tried one of these cascode oscillators for VHF and UHF. I used the 2SC3355 but the 2SC2570 is even better in some instances. It's beta is higher than the BF199. In another video ukposts.info/have/v-deo/oY90hKGkjZWLw4U.html I saw a luxurious bench and instruments, It would be great if you showed us the results of this circuit and some test points with the oscilloscope and the spectrum analyser. People love reality behind theory and chalkboard, so please set the bench and hock up probes and rock n roll.
@PanosKontogiannis19 днів тому
great video, the best I have seen so far explaining the phase detector and bit recovery clock. You could implement the pulse edge detector in software by attaching two interrupts (a rising edge and a falling edge interrupt routine) performing the phase sensing.

Great video! Unfortunately for me, I'm still missing the point at which the spreading sequence applies. Will it matter if we apply the spreading sequence to the data stream - as what was shown on a slide at 6:26 - first and then mix it with the carrier or we should first get the modulated data stream signal and then apply the spreading sequence? As I see it it should produce the same result, shouldn't it?

Yes, absolutely!

Do you have the capacitance values you used for this circuit, trying to recreate these results in the lab. I tried with 5pf caps and a bc560 transistor and could not reproduce.

Hello! I had been trying made audio phase shifter using STM32F303 microcontroller using a copmlex FFT. BUT A processor was busy 80% of time.As a result - main logic of a program and modulation process had not been realized.Your design uses Waver principle - as I understand.
@andrewandrosow479727 днів тому
How to work with such a high frequencies? 1 pF capacitor has impedance 15 Ohm, 2.5nH inductor (1mm length of 1mm diameter wire) has impedance 18 Ohm... Any millimeter of wire can leads to parasitic oscillation in an amplifier.... I made only FM transmitter 100MHz, and 5mm of wire increase SWR. But what we will have in 10GHz? Any micrometer influences on SWR in a cable?

This is the best video I have ever seen on Tesla coils- how it only has ~2.8k views is beyond comprehension. I have one question about the Boost PFC- how do you charge the capacitors to the initial 325V without massive inrush currents? is there a pre-charge system that cuts out once the initial charge is established?
@AllElectronicsChannelДень тому
Thanks! Yep, I used a pre-charge circuit. Just a contactor with a big series resistor, in the 100 Ohm range.

But what if we take the cross correlation in the time domain and average? Since jitter is the time domain equivalent of phase noise, would this reduce the jitter of the signal?

HI! this is a beautiful project. I would be interested in reproducing the sampler to lock my HP 86290C. Do you think that as it is it can work decently up to 6GHz? I would like to have a diagram, or at least the abbreviation of the balun you used. Thank you so much for your kindness!
@AllElectronicsChannelДень тому
Yes, absolutely think would be possible. I'm traveling and don't have access to the diagram right now. The balun man, is probably a network balun, I bought from surplus. So.. Conclusions is: try it, iterate.. Don't lose much time thinking about parts, you will also learn a lot on the process. Greg.

rise time is measured in [time] units, and slew rate is measured in [level/time] units. that ought to tell the whole story.

Hi how much is the maximum input voltage of this sampler? What is the main difference of 2diode and 4 or 6 diode samplers?
@TheElectronicDilettanteМісяць тому
This was the best explanation of DRSSTC I’ve seen. And I’ve been watching a lot of videos looking for this level of information. I’m a soon to be old guy, getting into electronics to keep my brain occupied. I’ve always been fascinated with Tesla Coils and have been attempting to construct my own with varying levels of success/failure. In all your free time, do you think you can visit the topic of the Slayer Exciter Circuit version of a Tesla Coil and the hybrid Solid State , Spark Gap variant? Electronics is a slippery slope, every time I learn something new, I realize how much more I don’t know. You do an excellent job conveying your point and explaining it in a way that demands engagement. Thanks sooo much! I look forward to the rest of your videos!

What is this setup or technique called? I need to know more about this, it works for me but for some strange reason it only goes up to 130MHz, I already tried with other ferrites, more or less turns on the ferrite, transistors up to 6GHz, but I still can't exceed 130MHz.

Hello! The LC tank load in one side on 100-300Ohms input impedance.The same situation on the output. So, the LC circuit has low quality factor, and has bad stability (but the PLL with a quartz is in charge for it). Am I right?
