I think part of the problem is that science is withheld from the general population. You have to pay to read papers. You have to pay to use Brilliant. New ideas are worth money so corporations, universities, and web sites keep those ideas behind a paywall. Another problem could be that disruptive ideas challenge those in power who have been promoting the status quo for most of their careers. Peer reviewed journals are the gatekeepers of information and publishing in them is required for a degree. The people reviewing papers do not want to be shown to be wrong. Funding goes to those who follow the current thinking. I think climate science is a poster child for this problem. No crisis means no funding, no papers and no degree. So those pursuing a degree in climate science toe the line and publish to support the current thinking. They fill the offices of universities and go on to regulate thought. Those who don't do that find another line of work. Part of the problem could be a completely wrong world view. For instance, if your world view requires 90% of matter to be "dark" to reconcile observations with what you believe to be true, it may be time to start considering other possibilities.

A new study can find any thing as long as you pay for it. Why don't you use some tangible data. For example, is the total world food production declining? It's a well surveyed data. If not, it means the climate is so far so good.

I don't fully accept the "branching" as you've put it. Another universe isn't created from the branching. It's just already there but with a different deterministic path, and since the idea is there could be infinite then there will/would be some very much like ours where a lot of things can run parallel in position, time, and state where one small difference may alter the path.
