This song made my day.. And it's fun part of listening to a great song when u think what the lyrics mean.. when u try to extract what the musician want to deliver... who is James? My interpretation is he sings for himself, another part of himself that is still young, pure and beautiful. The world is cruel and full of lies when he thinks about it he does not want to wake up James (does not want to accept the truth) and this James (the beautiful heart that still exists somewhere in his heart keeps him alive (as in lyrics said exactly why I stay)

I'm a long-distance runner and along with weed, listening to this song with my earphones, it has really CARRIED me over very long stretches where I live- to the point that I've been able to experience the runner's high multiple times. Endorphins and endocannabinoids coursing their way through my body to give me that out-of-body experience we all search for! The point is to make a deal with your mind and body to accomplish the impossible! Whether it's running, weight lifting, or just getting over a rough break in your life like a bad breakup, losing a job, or being addicted to something! It is an extremely profound song and I honestly prefer it over the original!

In less than a month I will be 23 years old, and two years ago I overdosed on pills due to my daily consumption, this month they happened. I was hospitalized for attempting to take my own life, and from then on, I started taking prescribed medications again and today I admit that I became dependent again. I feel like in the video, my little self trying to help my young self, but I don't know. It's one of my favorite Placebo songs, I know that if I profess my love for prescription drugs again, I'll end up in a drawer. But I need them, I'm not a demon when I'm with them in my system.
