I didnt know about the rust color when exposed more to the sun. That explains why my girl isnt as orange-colored this year after the winter (she was abandoned by the mama cat last summer, so she was outside a lot back then).

I currently have an orange tabby Raggamufin and before that a domestic short hair. The new one is also domestic short hair so I’ll be interested to see if I notice the “friendly gene” again. By rhe way our senior cat pretty girls had a diabetes. Months ago she was drinking water all the time same as the dog Angel before she passed. Later, weeks ago.pretty girl is slowing down and she keep drinking too much water. And last week we noticed she has fluids building up. We took her to the vet and says she has cancer, heart failure and vet nothing they can do to save our pretty girl. We decided to just bring her home and let her comfortable as possible. She starts eating less and fast breathing. Few days after check up, today two hours ago she died at our home . Our hearts are heavy that we lost a dog Angel last month and now our Pretty Girl. Too much pain .

My 5-6 year old cats have a cat door and they are VERY happy to be free. They were in an apartment for their first year, but since 4 years ago, I have a house. I sold my litter robot since they go outside now. They are in and out throughout the day and night and love sleeping with me. I no longer clip their nails or put collars on them. I would rather them live 10 years with freedom than 20 years as a prisoner.

Our cat has been with us for more than 11 years. She just came up from the woods and we fixed her. She just died an hour ago. We loved all our rescued pets 2 dogs and 6 cats. Last month our dog Angel died and now our pretty girl. Both are best friends the dog Angel and the cat Pretty Girl. Both had health problems before they died. Our time is enough for the animals . We cannot rescue anymore. We still have 5 cats and one dog. It is more than painful our beloved Pretty Girl and Angel left us. I hope there will be heaven for animals. Can't do it anymore. We will do our best to take good care of the rest of our pets 5 cats and one dog.

Nope. Most vitamins are synthetic anyway. Add to that the treat styles (what ingredients I could make out on one of them) consist a good part of grain carbs and citric acid. Nope, nope, nope! I prefer to just spend more money on better quality food than split the same amount between mediocre food and vitamin/mineral mixes. What I have been doing? (and this is a work in progress) I've been feeding my two felines Nulo wet food because that is the best quality I've been able to find that they are willing to eat out of a can. As money permits I change that out with Dr. Marty's freeze-dried packages and the occasional Pure Bites freeze-dried whole herring that one cat likes. Both cats LOVE the Dr. Marty's. (I wish my wallet did as well. Hideously expensive, but I'm told so are vet bills.) Anyway, what I discovered is that during a couple of two-week periods when I had to confine the cats and found it convenient to only give Dr. Marty's and only once the dry food? Their eyes lost what I thought was a natural brown around the irises. Oh my God, the brilliance of the Tuxedo's yellow eyes while the elder Tabby's turned into pure turquoise. They looked like polished gemstones! I hated the idea of having to return to wet food at all, so now I compromise and give them as much of the freeze-dried as I can possibly get the money for. So my advice would be to skip the Pharmacy section and get the best quality food you can buy even if you can't afford to make that their only food.

Just lost my big ginger boy who I took in from outside… he picked me, he was so devoted, so happy and loving, and beautiful in every way. He was taken from me too soon due to negligence and misdiagnosis. I am devastated. 💔💔🌈🐈🐾

A QUESTION FOR THE VET! With regard to the possum and the skunk I mentioned below, both have fleas all summer. Can I use the same liquid flea treatment where you squeeze out a tiny plastic flask of medicine onto the back of their neck? Or should I just let nature take care of something like that?

We have a wild possum in our neighborhood (in a DENSELY populated city), and this possum is for all intents and purposes nearly domesticated. It’s an incredibly affectionate little guy (or gal), and loves climbing into people’s laps to be stroked and petted. At first I thought it was just looking for an easy meal, and if hungry he (or she), seems to appreciate the food, but by FAR he will ignore offered food and nuzzle you for affection. (There’s also a young skunk that’s like this). Which is how I found out that skunks DONT stink unless they’ve recently had to defend themselves. I even seen my tomcat occasionally curled up with one of them despite the fact that he’ll attack any other cat that comes near him. Apparently other cats are competition whereas skunks and possums are convenient pillows.

My cat is NOT chilled like that when I try put the harness on.

What is the treatment for inhaled foreign object??? My cat has most likely inhaled a piece of cat grass and has been coughing the whole night. It has now gotten a bit better now, but he still continues to cough now and again.

Two food hints... Dont keep wet cat food out for more than 2 hours and add water to dry food.
