This was a great interview (though I wasn't expecting to cry). I'm glad Ren has a level head. I worry about young artists and what success can do to them. We are so starved for connection that we eat out artists alive. Maybe it's because we don't really have those close tribal connections. When we get something real that we can respond to, we want to make gods of them then squeeze everything out of them so we can ingest it ourselves. (Even after HI Ren, after Ten said we must not forget that we are human beings, some comments called him a god.) I think we do this more to musicians because the way we respond to music is so immediate and visceral compared to other art forms

The greatest rock band of all time..... nobody, but nobody, in spite of some brilliant bands, comes even close to ZEP. Losing John Bonham deprived us all of plenty more brilliance. RIP John, you are sadly missed.

Black Pegasus has become my favorite reaction channel. I am a Boomer. He reacts to so many genres and artists. Music is the universal language. It affects people differently. People have different tastes in music just like we have different tastes n food, art, etc. It’s fun seeing younger people take interest in and be introduced to music of other eras and genres. He is very genuine.

Excellent reaction and you took the time to share your thoughts at the end, thank you for sharing! 1:57 -- You say this sounds familiar, you may've heard All Day by Kanye, or Runaway, which this song is parodying aspects of. He uses almost the exact same musical elements and performance styles, crowned by the delivery of a deeply personal, auto-tuned monologue. That monologue satirizes not only Kanye's artistic expression, but celebrity vulnerability and the spectacle of public breakdowns in general while simultaneously being genuinely being self-reflective and self-effacing. Instead of pointing to Kanye's arrogance directly, he was thoughtful enough to have the introspection to point at himself first. Alone in a room, but playing audience noises back to himself and escalating that shared elation of "get your f'in hands up" to a much demanding ~pray for me~. Simple and poignant on multiple levels.

Welcome to the rabbit hole, Rosalie. Greatest songs and greatest musicianship - unmatched since. Next song? You could throw a dart, but 'Since I've been loving you' will freak you out (studio version first).

I think the older we get we should enjoy more that life has to offer. It seems every so often something happens in the world and people reach for the past, for nostalgia, where we feel safe. On the topic of current music, I often only hear the talent in young artists when they cover something from my past. I haven't liked any original mysic from, say, Miley Syrus, then i heard her do a backyard concert, of songs from the 70/80s and i thought 'she has a really nice voice!'. I dont think it's lack of singing talent, it's lack of good lyrics and especially, good musicianship, that's the problem with current radio charts.

Ummet Özcan is a great Turkish musician and otykrn’s band members are Siberian Turks. This music was created entirely with Turkish culture. Old Turkish instruments and the throat technique used. I was surprised how much Russians loved the song, which emerged after years of trying to destroy this culture.

Way before covid, there was a show here in the UK called 'Gogglebox' where average people/families reacted to news events and shows. And i didn't get the point until i caught myself watching an episode. When lock down happened we were all cut off and turned to these channels as a form of socialising and watching songs etc for the first time, through the eyes of others. Most of the channels I'm subscribed to are non rock/metal fans (mostly young rap fans), seeing that the genre is so diverse musically and can blend with any other music genre.

Unless I’m mistaken the lyrics are about heroin addiction, the needle tearing flesh and being “his sweetest friend.” Then I think his empire of dirt would be Trent’s successful music career…? Not sure the timing of his success and the composition. I like where someone said Trent wrote it from the perspective of current addiction and Johnny takes it as the end of life accounting of self and what he’d done to folks and the good ones he’d lost while in his addictions and career.

OK I wasn’t gonna be the one to suggest it until you did, but I’ve never seen a band more reliably arousing to women, especially this cut. It’s uncanny, and has a lot to do with Plant. It’s like a hotwire to female sexuality via male peacocking lol.

You can’t live on just Zeppelin, they had their periods of excess and bloat that riches and privilege creates, and despite being timeless they are also sonically very much of their age. Allll that said, there’s no greater rock band and that includes the Beatles, who were the greatest artist combo. Zeppelin are rock.

Has there ever been a drum beat/bass line/guitar riff that just flat out kicks you in the gut more than this? One of Jimmy's finest pieces of guitar playing. The band at their peak live before Jimmy's heroin addiction and Robert's throat problems a little later down the road. It just didn't get better than this.
