counterpoint to your 10" subwoofer in the 32x13" space, I had similar limitation (14" x 30) , i opted for dual 12" so I could run a ported box with the ports facing forwards. and the enclosures tuned for 25hz. I felt I could get better low frequency response than 3 x 10" running fully enclosed.

I went the super amateur route and bought one of those chinese 8" under-seat subwoofers that come with an installed amp and man i was insanely surprised at how good it sounds. I currently have it in the passenger footwell but im going to move it to the trunk to get a more balanced experience since it's a tad too boomy on my right ear.

Another problem with the crossover is you have to find a way to hide it under the dash

Why is it so debatable to suggest having two 8”s for higher pronounced notes and a single 12” tuned for low low notes and ambience? A lot of 4ch amps today do well if you added a sub/s bridged to ch 3&4 while running 1/2 and 3/4 in stereo. Then a separate amp for the 12”. The two 8”s will play on the same frequency you set the mids to on 3&4. Yes it’s a budget setup but with brand gear it will still sound great. Any thoughts?

so i decided to finally take care of my car after she was looking beat up after five years it's 2002 Chevy blazer and now I have a major car audio addiction it all started with Sony speakers in every compartment and then somebody said hey you got this thing clean and sound good now you need subs so give me free shitty random subs and then became a better amp then I blew those subs went through three upgrades in the same week till I ended up on dual kicker q's 1800 kicker amp 2 pioneer 4 channel amps 2 optima yellow caps new set of kicker speakers trying to find a way to keep the sonys in it a huge audio equation i have a red leather back topped off with stuff to hook up which i cant till i make a audio board of large enough size anywhere I go now the average person is jaw dropped everything is ignorant powerful and I'm so far in I can't stop I have to go all the way I'm a lot of money and my mom even tried to count the other day and I had to stop her ive got like every square inch deadened underglow and inner glow and im on probation soooo not good i just need a dmh-810 but so expensive and I'm gonna need way more intense subs even though I have kicker Q 2 ohms in a vented qbomb

One thing to note. Anytime you're adjusting your EQ, use a song that fits the style of music you listen to. Sound guys do this at concerts after setting the PA. They play a track and use it as a reference for balancing (EQ ing) the PA. Also, try to use music with modern production rather than some classic rock song where you hardly hear any low end like the bass drum. I have always used the song "If I ever lose my faith in you" by Sting, to EQ a stereo. It has modern production that uses a well balanced mix of bass, mids and treble.

If you wanted to, could you paint the texturing you put on. I'm thinking of painting mine white to match the texture of the roof in my jeep.

Mark, what is the purpose of a 6.5 inch or even an 8 inch 'midrange'? Does it handle the same frequency range of a 6.5 inch 'midbass' or is it essentially an overpowered 3.5 inch midrange that plays those midrange frequencies louder?

I cut up a old countertop I used for reloading ammo. Secured it at an angle behind rear seats into trunk so it shows off amps/DSP/ECT when trunk is opened. Installed some led neon lights. Cost me a few bucks and a few hours of work.

Hey, love your videos, but I think you made a mistake. You said one type of amplifier is always -6db at crossover point, but then drew a curve for a second order slope of I assume the same type of amplifier with -3db at the crossover point. Also, you said -12db per octave and drew a curve that goes -12db over 2 octaves (200hz to 50hz), and the first curve you said was -24db per octave but did the same thing and drew a curve that goes down 24db over 2 octaves (200hz to 50hz). Am I missing something or is the -db at the crossover point not actually always the same like you drew it? Literally every crossover video I watch has information inconsistent with the others, and this is so hard to find a reliable source for information on.

Car speakers from the 80s early 90s were better. for very little power they sound travelled blocks. No idea what happen to new speakers so much power yet little sound

Hey i just got a 1600w 12inch skar vented subwoofer at 800w rms wired to 1ohm but i ordered a 1200rms 1600w peak skar amplifier and now im worried the amp is wrong for the sub cause of the rms on the amplifier is higher then the rms on the subwoofer which i can do 800w rms on the amp only at 2 ohms but i wanted to keep the subwoofer at 1 ohm how can i run this amplifier at 1ohm 1200w rms without damaging my sub running 800w rms

I just got a 1600w 12inch skar subwoofer vented it is preloaded in a box wired to 1ohm 1600w peak 800w rms with turning frequency of 36hz and im an amateur and got the 1200w rms to 1600w peak amplifier and dont know anything to set gain lpf or subsonic but want to know how i can get the best sound out of my bass without it sounding wobbly or damage my subs how do i set those settings the easiest way

You should check out a rivet spacer tool we use that I think will help you out with your hole spacing. Just Google "rivet spacer tool". They expand and keep the holes perfectly spaced so you are not limited to the spacing in the ruler you are using. Keep up the great work, love the videos sir!

I think I achieved my audio dream years ago when I installed a full alpine type x system in my golf. I'm actually in the process of digging all of the speakers and amps out of the loft and fitting them in my current daily driver. A Citroen c3 picasso 😂. I suspect I'll have a lot of rattles to chase when it's all installed...🤔

I love all of your videos because you challenge everyone to take their installs to another level. With that said, even though there was a ton of effort to show all your wiring and have it "neat" i would encourage to condense an install like this by hiding all of the wiring. I LOVE that youre using deutsch connectors and making it all quick-disconnect!

My Lc2i pro is connected as per regular old OEM headunit. Running a CXA 1200.1 Kicker mono amp. Using the GTO option it powers up, and using the "Rem in" to send the singal to my amp to turn on. So everything powers up. Heres the problem... maximised light wont turn on when playing around with the switch, and also there is no sound coming from my subs. What can i do here?
