We just had LatchUP 2024 at MIT. There are some really incredible things happening in the RISC-V hardware space. I think we're going to see a lot of new open devboards soon. Then we'll start to see open hardware for things like home routers, robotics controllers, and embedded controllers. The only challenge I see is that while it is easy to source RV32 chips there is not much available for RV64. As he was saying it the video about the 906 missing RVV 1.0, it's really just a matter of timing r/n. Next year will be a whole different ecosystem, I think. Especially with what's going on in Russia and China with RISC-V emerging as an alternative to x86_64 and ARM64.

It’s like no offence to anyone, but it took like 40 years to make North Korea an 8 bit rad hard microchip

I mean international court held the document Iran downloads RISC V for its rocket missle, and international court says it’s fair game, Iran downloaded it legally

I have found the presentation amazing, many thanks for sharing this presentation. I have attended similar events that were organised by Synopsys and AMD in the UK. As a university lecturer, I wondered that why there is a major gap between the universities and industry.

BTW, I love the idea of running SERV from SPI flash. I was working on a SPI-oriented CPU a while back, but became disenchanted because immediately-useful projects like SERV already existed.
@olofkindgren92814 місяці тому
Running SERV code directly from SPI is actually one of those things I haven't gotten around to do yet. It would be really cool to see if we could feed instructions serially into SERV from an SPI memory

How is it possible to get hands of this report? I am an engineering student, currently writing a thesis, that will include RISC V, and I would appreciate having the report.

who develops the cores? isa is just an interface. But in order to make cpu competitive smbd needs to develop the cores. Do we have open source core designs?

If the whole open source community.... collectively agrees on a particular standard or combination.... then collectively fund a soc is possible for servors , desktop and mobile.... embedded will also work...🌻🌻🌻🌻🍁🍁🍁🍁🙏🇮🇳

Im currently doing a research for a future proyect about RISC V based core IPs, chips, dev boards fully designed and manufactured in Europe that are being commercialized right now. The end goal is to purchase european RISC V dev boards. If in development I would also appreciate the information. I know SiFive is selling european designed and manufactured RISC V dev boards, but, the RISC V chips themselfs are manufactured in China. Thank you in advance for the assistance.

Great video! Is there an updated one with 2023/4 as the starting point? I've been developing products powered by ARM for 25 years, with my clients collecting awards for my designs at SEMA (automotive), DARPA (defense), and Best New Product nomination at Macworld Expo (commercial). All for handheld devices running Linux on ARM. But now I'm starting my first RISC-V processor project, for maritime propulsion instrumentation. Using an FPGA to integrate the CPU with nanosecond timing HW. It should be fun!

Q: do organized (incorporated) criminals train their machines that *greed is good?*
@hsukesan5 місяців тому
Oh wow. 🥰 Really comprehensive talk, Rejeesh. That AI driven hardware debugging is the cherry on the cake 🍰 The term 'TAAS' is cool. I know, Ashling has been doing this for years, but I didn't interpret it as TAAS. Have a few queries:- if required, I can connect in person. 1. I hope all the features detailed are present for ARM & RISC platforms? 2. You haven't mentioned about the OS support - I hope it's at-least supported for bare metal and Linux. Is there any other OS supported like any RTOS? 3. Regarding the cool installer, will the installer handles if the system has multiple versions for packages already present in system - for eg: GCC, G++ ... 4. Any feature comparison with your existing hardware debugger competitors - Lauterbach? 5. When you say, tool supports playback feature, is that "Time travel debugging" industry recently talks about? 6. Is AI driven hardware debugging in PoC phase or is it actually released in product now? Probably more curious queries. Will ask in person. I would love to watch a live demo, just for my curiosity.
