Don't pick on Arkansas either. It does fit when it comes to the metrics that will matter in a super league... Viewership and revenue.

SEC and B1G need to let a few dominate teams from ACC (Clemson, Miami, FSU, Colorado, TCU, Baylor, NC, etc…) merge with their alliance and move away asap from the NCAA.

Osu has alot of growth coming too. Alan has lost weight and workout. Got a rb better then we're lost. Te is a better receiver this year. No 1 receiver coming back that was hurt. Biggest deal won't be experimenting with the offense.

G5 accepting a downgrade would be the dumbest move ever. Same thing was said about TV time back in the late seventies and early eighties when the I-A/I-AA (Now FBS/FCS) split happened. With that said, I wouldn't mind a two to six-school "play-in" playoff for that one spot. It would give excellent exposure during a slow time (1st two-three weeks of December) for college football.

I enjoy watching MW football. I enjoy watching Boise St. However, I cannot stand to watch blue uniforms on a blue field. It hurts the eyes. Boise St only hurts themselves by continuing to keep that turf because it has to effect ratings.

I get the point BUT the comparisons are bad here overall. If the Big Ten and SEC cut half the teams they'd still do well, but the next 2 conferences might overtake them. Make actual rivals and play solid games. The only way it works is if they do it like soccer and you can play your way in and out so teams have something to play for. Otherwise, would you say as the Big Ten cut Rutgers and Maryland and lose those markets and fans? Would the SEC cut Vandy? What about when those teams join others

I had a plan that I felt would be a solid college football break away scenario that could be pretty cool with a 16 team playoff, 80 teams in a super league, 8 divisions geographically divided, collectively bargained contract of equal revenue, a salary cap NIL with rules about transferring and portal changes, a 12 game schedule with 3 out of division games decided by a lottery system, 2 year home and home and then redraft new out of division opponents every 2 years, and a schedule release by the league that keeps traditional rivalries scheduled as close as possible to their long history, and balanced schedules where teams play equal home and away with exceptions with traditional neutral site games and no more cupcakes. It could be a lot more competitive and force some schools to play a tougher schedule and give more schools a chance to step up and become competitive. If 80 is not enough they could go to 88 or 96 with all division winners getting automatic playoff spot in 16 team playoff plus at large spots and the possibility of having schools like Boise St, San Diego St, Tulsa, Tulane be included. I think 50-60 schools would not be enough but 100 or more is way too many so I felt that 80 would be ideal. Crazy times happening in college sports.

So let me see if I understand your plan. You want an 80 team league, with equal revenue sharing? So basically the wealthiest top 20 will be subsidizing the bottom 60? Wow what a great deal for the bottom 60! On top of that you want to limit salaries and NIL too, I guess because that will make it easier for the bottom 60 to attract and retain talent! However, as a Longhorn fan, I can’t help but wonder why the Longhorns should be required to subsidize Boise State? Any why should NIL and salary opportunities for Longhorn players be limited? What you propose is a great deal for the small, beggar schools. Not such a great deal for the wealthy schools and athletes. The wealthy schools will Have to give up tens of millions in revenue, and the athletes will see their earnings go down! All so that your 80 team league is sustainable!
@jrhaney11
@jrhaney11 13 годин тому
@@haroldflashman4687 it’s called collective bargaining which is what pro sports leagues use to maximize the value for all teams. I am a Texas fan and understand the anger of subsidizing the other schools who don’t carry their own brand value at an elite level but part of the new landscape of college football is a more equal revenue landscape to keep a competitive product but the upside is the fans get stronger more exciting competitive games with the the traditional elite teams having to be on a more level playing field. Maybe it will hurt Texas but it may not if they keep recruiting strong top 5 classes and add quality transfer portal players. All I know is college football is changing quickly and it’s confusing on how it will all end up in the end of all of these moves coming soon. Some want fewer teams in a super conference but I would prefer more teams that deserve to be in a new system if they can financially survive and thrive. I was just putting out my opinion of something I think would be a pretty awesome super league of college football.
@haroldflashman4687

@@jrhaney11 collective bargaining, and equal revenue sharing only work for the NFL because they have a very limited supply of teams! The NFL/pro model will totally breakdown if it went to 80 teams. What works well for 30 teams will not work for 80 teams! There’s a reason why the pro-leagues are so careful in expansion. There has to be a net financial benefit to the existing members. The 80 team league you pine for will result in huge financial hits to the blue bloods and their conferences. Basically the equal revenue sharing model for 80 teams means tens of millions $ a year less for the blue bloods! It’s a great deal for the have nots, since they get millions without having to sacrifice anything! On top of that you want to limit salary and NIL. Again a great deal for the have nots, but absolutely bad deal for the players. I believe a 48 team league is ideal and fairest if you are going with equal revenue sharing! Also keep in mind that NFL has few small market teams so the subsidy from big market teams is not overwhelming. Your proposed 80 team league will require a massive transfer or wealth from the likes of Texas to the likes of Fresno State! It’s an unworkable model. There are only so many TV spots. Again, the NFL model breaks down if you suddenly have 80 teams that need to be on TV. The networks will want the most valuable match ups to be on TV. But your model requires equal exposure. You’ll end up with situations where TX v UGA may not be on TV because the networks have to put Boise State v San Diego State on. Great for SDSU and BSU, not so great for Texas and UGA. SDSU and BSU will be building their brands at the expense of Texas and UGA brands! An 80 team is totally unsustainable!

Naaw, I don't think they have to worry about being kicked out...at least not anytime soon. SEC members have such conference security that they don't even need an exit fee, because none have left the conference in about 60 years, not since GT & Tulane. And apparently that loyalty cuts both ways...I see where people used to post these ridiculous scenarios where certain SEC teams were leaving voluntarily to join some conference or the other... well surprise! it never happened, probably never will!!!

Quit picking on Vandy, with the SEC its not "one of these things is not like the other". It's "half of these things arent like the other"....Georgia Tech & Tulane = 8 Sec championships.......but...Ole MISS, ARKANSAS TEXAS A&M VANDERBILT MISSOURI KENTUCKY SOUTH CAROLINA combined also = 8 SEC championships. But NOW you're squaking for parity? Now right after the highest parity POWER conference was just blown up, tampered, and cherry picked? Two decades of punditry saying they were bad because their champions alway suffer a defeat or two? Can't produce an undefeated champion for playoffs with constantly shifting goalposts? If its parity they want for their super league, they better be careful what they wish for. The fact of the matter is the honchos at the SEC and B1G are perefectly happy half their teams are straight garbage, and they're perfectly happy to keep up the ruse during expansion, in order to keep balance....Don't be surprised if you see a Kansas and a Virginia join the SEC, and dont be surpised if you see more Rutgers join the B1G . After all, its you they want fooled. They have no intentions of deluding themselves and weakening their prime properties. Does anyone honestly think that Ohio State wants more Oklahomas or Florida States on the menu, when sometimes they have troubles with the MARSHALL's ? Just look at what the B1G/SEC really did through the ruse of expansion...They've made it so Penn st no longer has to play BOTH Ohio st., and the Wolverines, every year, right in time for when the playoffs expand to accept multple loss teams, ditto for Ohio st, ditto for Michigan, ditto for Alabama, Georgia ,Oklahoma Texas and LSU. Do you really think they'll be letting in any ACC or B12 with even a single loss? There is millions on the line saying they will not.

I still see this whole thing sort of like MiLB. You may still have your College teams,but players can choose which path they want to take, some may want a College Education, while others can play "in the minor Leagues". The whole concept of a College Athlete is long gone. There does need to be a major realignment in regards to Geography.

As a Texas fan, the only teams that could make any noise in the playoffs would be Utah, TCU, KState or OK state, but UCF Colorado and Tech are building something special too. Would suck to see most of the B12 get absorbed into the B10 while the rest get pulled into the sec once espn gives up the ACC to the Sec.

Sit on your ass and the world will pass right on by you. Like he said, they thought they would naturally just be there and pretended like the conference just manifested itself into existence and the big bad SEC and the big bad BIG10 are just taking everything and leaving nothing for the little guy. Grow up. just grow up. Also, welcome to the real world where the bigger dog eats the smaller dog.
