Outstanding review Sir!👏👏👍💡I want to add, At the 28:00 minute mark when you was explaining about the many clicks that's needed to change the settings by 0.1 increments at a time: You can change that to 1.0 increments by pressing the light/video play button that's just beneath and to the right of the record/picture button to zoom through the settings at 1.0 at a time, instead of the 0.1 when twisting the knob👍 Hope that helps because it sure as hell helped me out along with you very helpful instructions in your review!🙏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍

Thanks for the excellent and informative video. I seem to see on the base of the 2 rings supplied, a recoil stop fixed with two small screws (in addition to the tightening bolt...) this I imagine should guarantee absolute precision of assembly on the picatinny rail. This is important as I would like to mount it on a bolt 308
@Outdoorsaustralia14 днів тому
Yes they have good recoil lugs on the rings and should hold up to any calibre

What type of rifle you using and how often do you clean the barrel? 17's are notorious for spraying bullets if you don't clean after as little as 20-30 shots. If you're not shooting a Tikka T1x, buy one and you'll shoot one hole 50 yard groups. I like Hornady 17 grain V-Max.
@Outdoorsaustralia28 днів тому
Using a howa 1100, it's usually a tack driver and hasn't been fussy with cleaning in the past but I'll clean it and test some more ammo

Such a strong sound from a shot in this caliber and the accuracy is so-so... And how do you walk through the tall grass at night, because there are snakes there that can bite😲🤔
@OutdoorsaustraliaМісяць тому
Yes a little snappy sound from the 17hmr but not too loud. I walk around with a red coloured led head lamp on, and to be honest, I've seen very few snakes at night compared to the day
@2clicksup910Місяць тому
Frustrating. For some reason, my little HMR likes the 17 Grain Winchester ammo. This is the cheapest ammo I’ve found, but it works an absolute treat. But, they have a habit of splitting brass; anything from just the neck to the entire length of the spent case, which sometimes needs knocking out with a rod. Do you (or anyone else here for that matter) have the split brass issues with the 17HMR, and are there any brands better or worse than others?
@ExploretheMalleeМісяць тому
Hornady 17gr VMax are superb. I've run them through two different 17hmr rifles and always reliable and very accurate.
@OutdoorsaustraliaМісяць тому
I haven't had the split brass problem with the hornady 20grn, I've seen the hornady 17grn split cases a few years ago in a friend's rifle. I've got some cci A17 ammo to test hope my gun likes that
@larrybinge86028 днів тому
Ruger, for sure. Nicely balanced with a heavy barrel. Compact fun to use. Good trigger, accurate. The rest of it is average, mass produced crap. Mine went back due to ejection problem, but it came back and has been ok. Only tikka and sako you could say "my rifle is awesome". But you pay of course.
@ExploretheMallee28 днів тому
@@larrybinge860 I had a heavy barrel Ruger American Target that had exactly the same ejection issues; it went back and then fired beautifully after that. Absolutely a sub-MOA rifle. It was just a bit too heavy for a night of walking around so I then got a Tikka T3x.
@ExploretheMallee28 днів тому

I'm curious watching your video. I also was sent the eagle scope by one leaf to do a review video, and your first footage showing you ar 1.0x zoom seeing 200 yards is very close and mine does not look even close to that. I am lucky to be able to accurately hit a coyote at 75 yards with the 1.0 x zoom. I felt as when i was trying to sight it in at 100 yards I had to be zoomed in to 10x zoom to accurately see to well enough to sight it in.
@OutdoorsaustraliaМісяць тому
For the best look through the eyepiece and hdmi output I set the screen to 4:3 instead of 16:9, this fills the eyepiece screen fully and is like slightly zoomed in as you could see on the hdmi screen. Be sure to have the ir illuminator on its max brightness setting, then zoom in the illuminator to a small spot, You need to set the illuminator up like that to see further at night. Hope this helps Regards Daryl

A top notch review which I thoroughly enjoyed watching. Kudos to you also for being the first UKpostsr ( in the world! ) to review that specific scope in its entirety. The other scope you mentioned is the Oneleaf Commander NV400 4X52, which has been out now for over six months and there have been many previous reviews of that model. Other reviewers have been recently sent the Commander NV400 Eagle, but you're the first to publish it, so nice one m8. I look forward to seeing more of your videos, particularly with this scope, but in the meantime, good luck with your channel and thanks a bunch.👍👍👍
@OutdoorsaustraliaМісяць тому
Thanks for the kind words mate, I'm glad you enjoyed the review even though it is very long but there's so much to cover with this scope 😀
@frizzle1002000Місяць тому
@@OutdoorsaustraliaYou're welcome. 😁 It's a fabulous scope and incredible value for money for one in that price range for sure. It was well worth the time you spent on reviewing it because there's a lot more under the cover once you delve deeper within its extensive menu, and this also enables further tweakabilty of its image and such. Oneleaf have obviously spent a great deal of time and thought on how best to structure that menu to make it relatively easy to work with. Their colour manual for it is also exceptional as far as those things go, for making it easy to read and understand about every aspect of the scope and its accessories from start to finish. All things considered, I think it's quite brilliant.
