Thank you! With the UX (UniFi Express), you'll exceed the 5 unifi devices limit (including the UX itself). I would recommend you get the UDR (UniFi Dream Router). I probably have it linked in the description. If you have fast internet and want to use the Threat Detection in UniFi Network, then consider going with the UCG-Ultra and a UniFi Access Point since the UCG Ultra doesnt have built-in wifi. With Threat Detection, the UDR coudl be throttled down to as low as 300 Mbps but the UCG-Ultra can still be up to 1,000 Mbps. Let me know which way you decide to go.

There’s always design constraints. Typical trade offs here were price and even size. PoE add more parts and room needed. They could’ve done all of that but then it would larger and more expensive. It’s like the new UDM Pro Max. No PoE for similar reasons. This UCG ultra is really meant to be paired with their USW ultra or any other Poe switch if needed. For the price and speed with full threat detection, I think it’s great.

It's difficult to troubleshoot this just for this alone. It might be as simple as an extra space or location may not match. We might be able to figure it out in a 30 minute call. Reach out using the link in the description.

It has Bluetooth so you’ll have no problem setting it up without WiFi. I would recommend just using your smartphone.

It’ll work but won’t be ideal. The WiFi signal won’t switch well between the two APs. Meaning that if your phone is connected to AP 1 and you walk around your house, and your phone is much closer to AP 2, it won’t switch when it needs to. It will probably switch over to the closer AP eventually but you’ll probably lose signal before it does which isn’t great. I haven’t tried two APs like this but that’s what Ubiquiti themselves point out. Consider the U6 Long Range. I’ve installed one in a two-story home and covers the entire house well, add outdoors.

Give me more details. What exact model? You added to a Unifi network or other brand?

@@ApexOneTech Model is Unifi Ap firmware version 4.3.28-11361. I added it to another network. (A TP Link router). It has two connection points with one being secure and the other open, I have tried fixing this to have only one secure point but to no avail. kindly advice.

In short, just the main one. The details: the UniFi AP in standalone mode only gives you two WiFi signals, one in 2.4 and the other in 5 GHz. Typically, you would just have one SSID for both 2.4 and 5 GHz. The way you can have two is if you separate your main SSID to be one radio and your guest on the other. For example, main on 5 GHz and guest on 2.4 GHz. I wouldn’t recommend that though. Really, the AP in standalone mode should be used for one SSID.

at 2:00, I say it quickly, but those two commands are unique for you based on your mac username. So, you can't just copy what I have on the screen. You copy what Terminal gives you. In my example, the mac username is "dianachepurny". It's technically not your computer name but username.

I doubt it. UniFi has their own thing called UniFi Identity. Can be used with all their tech like door access and VPN. ui.com/identity I understand that it's totally not the same thing but that's just what they push for a simple setup.

You can give it a try. But consider that the WiFiman Wizard (the add on hardware) cost less than a UX. And it’ll let you scan any network. If you go the UX route, let us know if it works.

Mostly just depends on your internet service provider for your internet speeds. Connection via a wireless access point will always have some speed loss when compared to a hardwired connection. If you’re asking about throughout of data with the U6 Plus, it’s on par with everything else. Specs wise: 570 Mbps on 2.4 GHz band and 2,400 Mbps on 5 GHz band. These numbers are for absolute ideal conditions though. Realistically, it’ll be much lower. Again though, when comparing to other APs, you just want your consider the coverage area and maybe MIMO.

They do keep popping in but sell out fast. Ubiquiti will never notify you on time though. These will probably get in stock again as others might purchase the Max instead.

Yes, same ceiling mount design as UAC-AP-LITE. Identical for the U6 Lite as well. So you should be able to use your existing mount.

Yes! for your typical ones like U6+ (9 watts). Some consume a lot more. PoE++ input can get you 42W PoE. Like the U6 Long-Range can be up to 18.5W.

Not sure if you can in Yealink directly without Teams. I setup these phones only with Teams. In Teams you can upload your own audio for the voicemail message.

Yes, you can set up extension numbers in Teams Phone in general. However, I haven't done so with a Shared Calling Plan. But I do plan to make a future video on extensions. U6 Pro take 13 watts max each (techspecs.ui.com/unifi/wifi/u6-pro) So you'll need to have a budget of 26W of PoE. The 60W version of the Ultra Switch will get you 52W of available PoE. That's your best option if you're connecting the switch directly to the UCG Ultra. However, it's cheaper to get the Switch Lite 8 PoE instead for $110. Will give you 52W of total PoE as well plus it has PoE+ ports. You can backup and try to restore to the UCG Ultra but the UDM Pro is more capable so some things won't translate. FYI that PPPoE is a known issue right now with the UCG Ultra if that's something you use.

Right, Ultra Gateway at minimum. The Express can be used as an AP but I'm pretty sure the UDR cannot. You can only have one UniFi Network per cloud gateway but the Express is the exception. I would try to sell the UDR honestly. They're always in demand. The Express would be fine as the AP if that's enough for your coverage and devices. Otherwise, pick up at minimum a U6-Plus and sell the Express as well. Alternately, can keep the Express as a wireless switch that meshes to your U6-plus. The two ports on the Express will become LAN ports and anything you plug in will work much faster than directly through wifi. I've tested this out on my Mac. Saw 50% faster speeds than through wifi.

Thank you! The Ethernet port will still be used either way because you need an uplink back to your Unifi Express. The power supply will really just dictate how much PoE wattage you will have available for the ports.
