I have the 279 model and it very bright but the battery life isn’t great. It goes from 100 to 80 then 60 and 40 then off. It shows 20% at a time. I only use mine for looking at my pictures after taking them. I don’t have the monitor on all the time. ❤❤❤

I have a issue with 2 motors. Got it working and did not use it for a bit. Now I cannot sync one motor. I have power connected to the Iris motor, bottom. And top connected to the bottom of focus motor. Focus motor sync but Iris motor does not and it flashes. I can do the opposite too but not both motor together. Any tips?

Good Review. How does it compare to the previous version? I had the previous version of the Lidar. I was very frustrated with it. I had to recalibrate all the time. This made it completely unusable in a professional context. The theory of it is great, but it is miles away from internal stabilization of the Sony camera. I say this as BlackMagic user.

Can i pair SE with HE version?

I love the Nano II system, but it has some issues: the readings @ home screen are pretty much useless, I wish telemetry included meters (or ft.) and not degrees. And why Iris info is not there and how come you can’t add values to a custom lens? I mean, focus is important but for me T-stops are critical. Camera library is still very limited. What’s s Tilta waiting for to add the LiDAR to the system? With all and all, it’s a great tool.

Not a useful comparison. This system isn’t an autofocus system. This is a waste of time. 😮

I have this. Not compatible with my FX30. Their older unit works with my FX30, so I’m glad I didn’t sell it.

How could it be better? The Nano 2 requires a person to "follow focus" while the Focus Pro does it on its own with LiDAR...

I can only assume the title is click bait...A cheap trick! This is in NO way a comparison with the Focus Pro, that's frankly a much better system and intergrates with the transmission system perfectly giving even better professional features...Oh and it is autofocus, the Tilta isn't.......Oh and it integrates really well with the RS4 and Pro Gimbal.....Oh and the focus assist unit is bigger and designed for focus pullers, it even has marker rings on it......Oh and the focus dial on the grip and the assist unit has forced feedback so you can control focus much more intuitively.....Oh and the motors are MUCH stronger meaning that it can control those heavy PL cinema lenses....Oh and so many more features....Need I go on? If you had actually compared the two systems rather than create the click bait title I think you would have struggled to find a single reason to opt for the sponsors of your video.

Yes, so many settings! However a much more reliable and versatile system on set than the first nano system. I love that you can control focus and have zoom all working at the same time without having to change any settings during filming. Even when using my new Siri Jupiter 28 - 85 zoom lens, with my Zcam F6, the motors have no issues. What would be great is if it could also control the new DJI motors with the LiDAR attached! :)

Id actually also love to see some competition in Lidar tech from brands like Tilta. Would be great for the solo shooters out there. Great video!

MIC A IS SO CLEAR , B sounds muffled

Can you use the Tilta Nucleus Nano 2 system with the Focus Pro Lidar at all? It would be annoying to have to buy an entirely new follow focus system just to use the lidar itself.

A > B, I wish you added the Rode NTG5 to this comparison. By far my favorite mic and curious how it compares to these two.

Mic B sounded a bit muddy to me. Mic A seemed to have a little more air on the top end, and (in my opinion) rejected BG noise better. So I'd say A is the Sennheiser. But if you weren't comparing side by side, either would do the job!

Hello Tom. I have a question. Why is nobody using the DJI Focus Pro with a microphone on a camera??? Is the focusing motor that loud so the audio captured with a microphone is unusable?

I did such a comparison some years ago and I liked the Synco so much that I sold my MKH 416 and bought a second Mic-D2 and still had a lot of money left.

A very beautiful comparison where we see that microphone A is slightly better than microphone B. Please also include the Synco D1 microphone as it is said to be better than the D2. Thank you.

MKE600 has served me very well. Have owned three of those for the price of one 416.

Hard to tell what mic is "better" because they sound different. Mic A sounds like it has a low cut filter, very little bottom end, but really crispy in the highs, Mic B sounds very boomy in the low end and its picking up more handling noise, but nothing EQ and Low pass filter can't easily fix. I would say Mic A is the Sennheiser and Mic B is Synco
