My personal Taylor Swift hot takes: liking Folklore or Evermore doesn't make you niche or interesting or means you like some of her "deep cuts", they are some of her most popular works (not that there's anything bad about it, gatekeeping is dumb, it's just annoying to me when people pretend just because she made an indie album it means they like her more niche works). And Reputation is underrated and genuinely good.

im still always gonna love eddie. “those fans” have given him such a bad name that people dont even like stranger things anymore, or blame eddie for the downfall LMAO. and yes i was sort of considered as one of the weird kids, but i think i mostly relate to chrissy, erica, and lucas

And what happened to her clothing and skincare lines ? They flapped. I don't know who thought this was a good idea ? Like I'm going to get her skincare where she uses the best of the best and definitly not using her own skincare. And this alcohol that she promoted while saying she dosen't drink and her husband has problem with alcohol " all great ideas " probobly her own . She reminds me of those people who always copying from others never happy with what they have and constantly copying and thinking "I can do that better " but unfortunately they are not better and eventually people are tired of them . I think people are tired of JLo I know I am.

Me and my friend were just having this discussion the other day because I was saying that for me - this album was disappointing. I didn’t think it was that good - conversely, I loved Midnights, and when that came out not a lot of people were into it. (At least not right away? It seems to have grown on people). But I agree with her writing as a narrator of other people’s stories, those songs are so good, especially now that her personal stories are starting to feel…out of touch.

Having been around since Red, but not in an obsessive way, i think this album is a ‘grower’. This same thing happened with Reputation, and it also had easter eggs in the songs, they bashed the lyrics, etc. But now everyone is clowning for Rep TV. The album grew on them, which kinda happened with Red as well. Not that you must grow to love it!! But she does add narcotics into her songs…. Personally i get the idea that TTPD is meant to be a bit ironic and to feel unhinged. Which is probably why Im obsessed 😂 it isnt her best lyrically but the lyrics give that overall unhinged, messy, confused vibe. The production….i guess as a Midnights continuation it tracks but Id love to see other producers. I think Jack is someone she’s very comfortable with and this was a vulnerable album for her so ok fine. I also wonder if a lot of the reviews come from a knee jerk reaction - people feel they must give a strong opinion immediately upon encountering something. Some art just needs pondering for awhile and this album is dense and exhausting upon first listen. But saying ‘im forming an opinion’ doesnt make for good clickbait.

You cherry-picked certain lyrics that may seem inane to you, and for some, you failed to consider the nuances of her songwriting. There are glitter pen, fountain pen, and quill pen of lyrics Taylor uses in her music. You judged the lyrics and her lyrical prowess by focusing on that line. "SO HIGH SCHOOL" is intended to be a fun song, a trip down memory lane of what it feels like being in high school. It's not something to be taken seriously. However, you didn't even mention certain lyrics like from "loml": "Who's gonna tell me the truth When you blew in with the winds of fate And told me I reformed you When your impressionist paintings of Heaven Turned out to be fakes Well, you took me to hell, too And all at once, the ink bleeds A con man sells a fool a get-love-quick scheme But I felt a hole like this Never before, and ever since" It's so frustrating. You didn't even consider the context and the intention of those songs. You also admitted that you don't care for the lore. However, that doesn't give you the right to unfairly assess the specific lyrics you cherry-picked to suit your claim!

You only did research that supports your own bias. Specifically, you focused on the part where the despicable and hideous reviewer, who omitted their identity due to fear of being attacked, was mentioned. Then, you diverted the topic, making it seem like "this is what the stan community has brought into professional reviews." You failed to acknowledge that the review was unprofessional, and even more credible and reputable authorities called out that person! Moreover, you failed to recognize some articles that highlight that some of the album reviews for this album were premature and unfair. One reviewer who initially judged the album took back their words, admitting that the number of songs was overwhelming, and they had done the review suddenly without properly digesting those songs, failing to give it a fair listen. It's annoying how you didn't acknowledge this and only focus on things that would be favorable to you!

I have two pretty odd tattoos 😂and I named my son after Ryan Ross. He’s the only Ryan in his class. He gets so mad when people call him Brian. I said good thing I didn’t name you Brendon. He was like yeah I wouldn’t like Brandon 😂😂 Vices and virtues was basically the end for me. My daughter keeps up with the new panic music though. I hate that you didn’t like trade mistakes. I sung it to my sister before she passed away. Her nickname was sheep though lol. I sung paramore, fall out boy, pierce the veil. All of her favorite bands to her. I miss her.

I consider myself a lowkey casual swiftie, like you. I enjoy most of her work, I like that her songs are kinda mindless lol you can just shut your mind off and have them play. That being said I don’t think I would ever go online and actively defend Taylor. At the end of the day she’s a billionaire and doesn’t need my help 🤷🏻‍♀️ clearly she can handle herself. I learned a long time ago not to associate with any fanbases I like online because 9/10 it’s gonna give me a headache.

With the note about the try guys (excluding the Ned thing) is that they want to do different content, they want to explore, dive into more complex themes, and lean into improv comedy. They couldn’t do the same thing forever , and I think it’s great that it has allowed Eugene to write movies and Zack to write sketches, and Keith to join lewburger. The buzzfeed says were almost a decade ago. The try guys, the audience, and thus the content all grew up.

I used to be a giant swiftie, and while i love her music, I don't like the thing's she's done as a person, and it was also negatively affecting my life. I feel like lately, shes been so busy and people have been demanding so much of her, that she's been pumping out things that shes not proud of. 1989 TV was not her best, and lyrically this new album isn't great either. She could definitely do much better.

It's ok to like or dislike things as an opinion because that's subjective. Not everyone can relate to everything, not everyone can comprehend everything. However, it gets to me when someone calls her untalented or her songs mid as they are facts. Well, that's understandable too, empty vessels make the loudest noises. What really gets to me is that Swifties are rage baited on the internet too much, which is why they are so defensive.

i agreed with legit everything you said as a also casual swiftie (been called a hater by fans and a swiftie by haters idk...)i rlly only like folklore and evermore and i hated midnights. i was so excited for this album bc I love dead poets society and thought this album would be like those two but it wasn't really. the second half of this album was so much better to me sonically and, because i personally dont care or know about her lore either lol and think she writes sm better from another persons perspective too (peter being my fav of this album), but overall I just dont think it was all that great

Life isn’t equal or fair and people liked Brad because he had charisma, something Sohla did not have. Sohla not getting why Brad was so popular, is why she will never understand that most things are not about experience or talent, but likability. (Mostly). It had nothing to do with race. Instead of burning something down because you’re not happy, go work somewhere else. Liberals will never understand these things and will ruin everything they touch. Equality and equity are not the same thing. Brad and Chris were awesome.

I think a large part of the critique for this album is general Taylor Swift fatigue. She's released 8 albums in the past 4 years, 9 if you count The Anthology as separate from the rest of TTPD. Genuinely, it's too much. It almost feels like she's just releasing music just to release it, not because of any artistic integrity. And when she releases these albums with so many songs and so little time between each major release, it doesn't give many the true staying power that songs from her first 6 albums did. A friend of mine once compared her releases to fast fashion, and I truly think that they were on the nose with that. Churned out, seemingly no effort, just in it for the money, forgettable releases that all feel nearly indistinguishable from each other. I love Taylor's work, but this has just become too much. I really hope she's seeing the negative feedback to this album and takes it to heart. If she didnt release anything for like 2-3 years and then came out with a new album, I think that'd be best.

@@anwaar9366 Nope. I watched 25% of it, thought it was meh, unsubscribed, and that's that. My comment is not about the video, it's about the album. A lot of the comments I read underneath the video say the album is badly written and that's simply not true, objectively. People can say they dislike it of course, liking art is subjective, but it's not badly written. I don't even need to explain why, there's plenty of videos of actual professors going over the writing and comparing it to whatever huge poet you can imagine. Again, not an album for the masses.
