I can go out and find 3 random rocks and flatten them by grinding them with friction. No saw, tool, or chisel required at all. If is sandstone like the Sphinx I could square them off in an afternoon. It is simply a matter of labor and time. All the monuments were motivated by religion. They had the time and labor.
