Repentance is has a lot to do with the posture of the heart. People can cry and act remorseful, and still not really repent. Benny is doing a “damage control”… your reason for such a stance is quite quirky. Jesus says we should bring for fruits of repentance (Matt 3:8)… it is the aftermath of a persons declaration of repentance that you can really tell that they have repented. I may not be God to also tell if Ps. Benny has genuinely repented, but if for anything, I have been following his teachings quite a lot lately and attended some of his crusades. I can see genuine change in his teachings. He preaches the Gospel of Christ as Paul and encourages Christians to get closer to God and live a life that is well pleasing to God. I don’t think it’s realistic for Ps. Benny to go and make peace with all the thousands (if not millions) of people who may have been victims of his past mistakes… Instead of we still trying to prove that he is still the same person, why not give him the same Grace that God gave us all. Imagine if the disciples insisted that Paul had not “genuinely repented”???

As a single, it is pretty scary because men in the church seem to demand submission from the get-go upon meeting them. Coming from a background of severe abuse, I am looking for a man I can trust so I can feel safe to trust him enough to allow him to lead. So I am still single. Just hard because it is so hard to even meet Christian men, because they certainly aren’t going to church. I do feel bad for young adults who still go to church because they are pretty isolated as well from meeting other like-minded Christians. Something needs to give because the church is encouraging many singles to go out into to world and find non-Christian mates. Almost everyone I know at church met their spouse when they were backsliding. Rare to meet couples who did it the right way biblically.

I just stumbled upon this video and it pained my heart to see Christians speaking in such a way. You owe him a commitment of prayers and whether or not his repentance is true remains between him and God. This video will reach even non-Christians. What sort of analysis do we give to a man who stands before God in repentance? We repent not because of the people we have hurt first, but because we have wronged God. Your opinion doesn't matter, not even mine. Speak the truth of God's word and not your opinion. If his repentance is wrong, then you both are wrong. If it is sincere, then you are also wrong but if he is fake, then you are right. Teach your people the truth and allow them to grow in discernment to know right from wrong, rather than fighting his repentance.
