BMS are mostly used when putting cells in series, which is not what he did here; from what I could see, they were all in parallel, so a basic charge controller board is okay. Personally, I would have done 4 pairs of cells with a fuse dividing it in half, but the design itself isn’t entirely bad. One thing he definitely forgot to do, which makes this potentially unsafe, is to ohm the individual cells before assembly; that way he can match cells with similar resistance within the pack, and discard any that may be sketchy/dying.

safety...... you still have 5 fingers, 2 on this hand and 3 on the other. that said, try to use the discs as weight inertia where the spacer is put. it will have more power before it stops and a bigger slow down curve.

lool... no rigidity at all, no repeatability, the cross slide is wobbly af (you can see it moving all over the place).. Get some cheap aluminium and rebuild all the plastic parts with that, will help a ton. also, that little motor has no torque, use a gear reduction to increase torque. direct driving a motor in this way is also bad for the motor (no trust bearings) so a reduction gear set will not only increase torque, but will prevent the motor from taking the abuse

OSHA would have gone insane if it saw this. You are leaving out protective features and it has no shield for the grind disc incase it explodes and learn to hold the thing properly or you'll be left without your fingers
