The money math examples don't make sense. You don't multiply 0.01 (penny) by 0.01. 1 penny ( the number of cents, which equals 0.01 dollars) multiplied by 1 (as in how many times do I have this amount of pennies) is 0.01. that math tracks. It's a vocabulary issue. If I have 1 penny, then I say I have a multiple of 0.01. if I have two Penny's, I say I have a multiple of 2 or, 0.02 dollars. By multiplying 0.01 by 0.01 (as in your example) you are essentially saying "what is 1/100th of the amount 0.01" and of course your answer is 0.0001. if instead you say "What is 1 of 0.01" the. Of course the answer is 0.01. I'm not a math guy but this is such a bad example you have given even if the rest of the information is intriguing.
