There are more references to her in ancient Greek and Roman works, just with different regional names. Her other Greek name is Lyssa, and the Romans called her Furor. She is referenced in the myth of Heracles, where she leads the titular hero insane so he kills his family. She is also referenced on Euripides's "Bacchae", as a protector of the followers of Dionysos, where she terrorizes some herdsmen that were going to snitch the Bacchae to Pentheus, by having her hellhounds tear apart their sheep.

I hope Todd McFarlane would make a DC MULTIVERSE 7" action figure out of Hippolyta.

As with almost all other Greek Gods, he also made love with the same sex. But he only had 1 male partner, Alectryon, unlike Zeus, Poseidon, Apollo and the others who had lots of men that they bedded. That said, there's one God whom we can be certain to never had a male lover - he's Hades. He had a wife and also liked a couple of other ladies but he never did a man.

But, thank you for being the only one who mentions Peon at all. Otherwise, crowds of admirers of Asclepius are licking his heels.😥
@user-yp6kn2uw4k14 днів тому
It's a pity, you didn't mention, how Asclepius killed Paeon out of jealousy over his healer's prowess.🧐🧐

Not exactly. You are confusing a lot of things together. Memnon and Andromeda are not described believed or depicted as black African characters in Hellenic mythology and culture. The mythical Aethiopians from Hellenic Mythology has nothing to do with Africa or Africans. The mythical kingdom of Aethiopia from Hellenic Mythology by Homer has nothing to do with the Geographical Term of Aethiopia by Herodotus. The mythical kingdom of Aethiopia from Hellenic Mythology has nothing to do with today's Ethiopia. Ethiopia did NOT exist back then as a country like we know it now. The country we know today as Ethiopia was established in 1275 AD by Yekuno Amlak as the Ethiopian Empire. There never existed a kingdom of Aethiopia in African history mythology or culture. I'm sorry but, You are mixing everything together.
Looking for videos talking about her so I’m glad I listened to my gut that this was about her and saved it to my watch later

Hail Glycon! I'm actually a supporter of unironic Glycon worship. I believe Lucian wasn't exactly telling the truth and that Glycon is a legitimate deity (even if it is possible that Alexander wasn't as scrupulous as he should have been)
