I think this is concerning. If he's cutting that much, demand must really suck right now. Seems Zach, Drew, Rohan, and others knew things were going to get bad before any improvements. The recent pop on the backs of the China visit is likely to be short lived. Many executives in many sectors seem to be suggesting a weaker consumer and higher rates for longer.

If you compare this to past mass layoff’s at Tesla, it’s very similar. Employees that don’t meet the minimum standards and departments and or terms that aren’t productive get eliminated. This accelerates progress rather than holds it back. When everything settles, New hires will eventually fill in the gaps left behind. It’s a little brutal for talented people who’s progress stalled or who’s team progress doesn’t measure up but if kept reasonable it will incentivize performance.

I think daniel ho and rebecca tenucci hired many family & friends and bloated the department assuming their department was bulletproof from any downturn. Everyone became buddy buddy friends on the tesla gravy train. They could not find anyone to cut & fire when it came down to trimming costs when called upon from their CEO.

Is there a reason Tesla doesn't just offer their own financing? They could still give lower interest rates like I see a lot of dealers doing. Then they could raise the price of their cars again.

We have also not heard anything about Tesla Insurance AND Virtual Power Plant or VPP expansion to other states.

We have a lot of version one superchargers in Texas. It would be nice to see those upgraded to version four in Dallas at superchargers we are sitting there only collecting 60 kW and they’re packed.

Really really really "inference" is a bad word for what you mean. It's not evidence and reasoning, it's much more like intuition.

It’s shocking to see how Elon has neglected Tesla since 2021 and then came back to destroy a once-extremely-promising company with one bad decision after another. A main reason that Tesla’s demand has been dropping is because it is getting harder to find an available and affordable supercharger. Another reason is that Elon has drastically dropped the EV price to boost demand instead of pursuing other means such as advertising and Tesla App Store. People are afraid of buying an expensive item and find it 10% cheaper to buy in 3 months.

I would like to see someone map out the number of planned EV chargers from all companies other than Tesla to be built in the next two years. For example, Shell announced they are shutting down 1000 gas stations and building 200,000 by the end of 2025. Yes, I’m skeptical too. BUT if any industry has the money to build out a charging network it’s the gas and oil companies. Other European charging companies are beginning to build in the US. so is it possible that Elon decided to slow down due to increased competition? Another point is we don’t know how quickly mileage of electric cars will increase in the next several years. Could it be that less chargers are needed? Is it possible that Elon is bitter over the number of federal subsidies going to other companies and not to Tesla? Could Tesla be switching to building chargers for apartments, public parking, etc. I doubt it but maybe… I’m sure there are many other possibilities…

I think Elon sucks at running businesses. He's good at running start ups but once a company has exited the start up phase and actually has to operate like a real business he has no clue how to handle it.

Has tesla hired any FSD remote assist drivers. Until Tesla has hired at least 1000 remote assist drivers FSD is not ready. A robo taxi gets stuck, and they will from time to time is the passenger just going to sit till the cops come help. How can no one see many, many remote assist drivers will be needed. Who is expected to clean the cameras when FSD is limited or Unavailable warnings pop up, is the passenger expected to get out and clean them off. Any, any FSD intervention is a 100% fail, how can you not see that. You watch the videos and sure they are crazy impressive , 1 hour driving around LA with only 1 intervention, so what if it tried to pull into the wrong lane, it only happened one time.

Sawyer and Omar both did make a big mistake. Instead of stating: 'An Article on *** just came out that said...' They just wrote the info. This is bad form and Elon is rightfully pissed if big names in the Tesla community just repeat stuff that was said elsewhere as if it was a sure thing.

Investing $10 B on AI is a lot. And it has to be done now! Cutting cost by a temporary slowdown of investments in a low marging business like the charging network seems to be strategically sound. If the macros were sound, Tesla might take on debt and do everything, but it isn't. We just have to accept that Tesla is going fully into AI, or it's not for us! I'll expect the car business will be kept very cost effective, using the current facilities to the limit for quite a while, until the AI startup investments peter out.

If the remaining Tesla employees don't unionize they are crazy. Elon becomes more unstable by the minute. The employees need to have some bargaining leverage against his ever changing whims. Elon expects extra ordinary commitment to Tesla from employees and then shows NO loyalty to them at all. He says cost must be cut,yet demands an average of 5 billion dollars a year compensation for himself.

The Giga casting was supposed to make Tesla super cheap and bankrupt other EV makers, it did not happen. The 4680 battery was supposed to be much cheaper and more powerful, it did not happen. The $25,000 M2 was supposed to be the car that put other car makers into oblivion, it did not happen. Now, Tesla pivots into AI and FSD. Will that happen? Iffy.

Battery supply and slowing economy are the two biggest factors facing Elon right now . Everything Tesla does uses a lot of batteries. Super chargers use a lot of batteries. Think about Sandy Monroe’s tear down of the Cybertruck. He found a lot of unfilled battery spaces, and the extra long range battery pack is still unavailable. There is an over supply of batteries in China, but import constraints make those much less attractive. To weather this slowing economic storm Elon is trimming not only fat, but muscle too. There is nowhere near the market for Robotaxis as there is for a small car at this moment, but the need for batteries will be less the margin will be greater. I think Elon sees the near term problems, and isn’t afraid to make the tough decisions needed right now for Tesla to continue making a profit through the hard times ahead.

Apple CEO should learn from Elon. At Apple Heaven's huge campus, you have a bunch of kids running around with their heads stuck in their iPhone's rather than performing meaningful contribution to the brand. This is why Apple products quality has deteriorated, and the prices are ridiculously off the rail!! There needs to be massive cuts at Apple!!!
