Now a new crew, in 2024 takes the field, some homegrown, some brought in. As of May 6th have the 6th best record. Baseball is a sport impossible to predict. And the Cubs could win 100 or lose 85 to end this year. However, I think the dynasty is alive. The mid to late 2020s will see a successful, dangerous Cubs team. Lead by people like Steele, Hoerner, Bellinger, Imanaga and Happ. There will not be another 108 years, not for the Cubs

The winning team (which is always the better team) falls behind by making early mistakes and gives up one big play, then there’s a big kick return that changes everything, followed by a stupid play by the losing team (failed fake), then a fumble and suddenly the receivers can’t catch and the kickers can’t kick and the lead is vaporized.

Quirky fact about this game: All 3 of the Cubs catchers(which was a wildly unusual roster decision for a World Series on its own) had at least 1 AB in this game, all 3 got at least 1 hit, and all 3 had an RBI. Montero even got the eventual game winning RBI.

Went inside, fed my dog and myself, turned the tv on and got the shock of my life when I saw twenty eight.
