i "was" considering this as a replacement to my 24" samsung monitor BUT having seen several reviews (and your's being the nail on the coffin), i am now reconsidering just getting a 43" QLEDTV instead as my monitor. that sound coming from the speakers sounds sooo bad, my Tab S9+ easily puts that to shame. thx for the review. new subscriber here from Indonesia

Great video! Also, thank you for confirming that a glossy screen (as opposed to a matte screen) shows a better picture! I would also rather deal with a a little bit of glare with a glossy screen (not a touch screen, specifically).

Hi, thanks for an informative video. For a couple of weeks I am watching the reviews on xps 13 regular one! I am right now a MBP user, but want to move on to Dell. Just office use, teaching and research work purposes, usually watch a lot of movies. I’m confused i5 vs i7 and 8GB vs 16GB. Please advise. I don’t want to go beyond 1000 USD. Thanks again😊
@mikedropstech28 днів тому
16gb is pretty much a must now, but if the i5 does what you need don't be pulled to the i7. You'll give up a little battery life and heat. They're both good chips for everyday usage.

I am just so pissed off at Alexa cause every time I ask her to play music or do something she says I need a subscription it didn't use to be like that and I have started cursing her out. Also 50 % of the time asking her questions is useless as she tells me something completely unrelated.

That's interesting about the subscriptions. I guess they need to make more money from her!

Who needs 19 hours of battery life? Like seriously? If you go 6 to 10 hours on this device regardless, you’re telling me you’ll never be next to an opportunity to plug it in? that’s assuming you go a straight 6 to 10 hours on it? Never gotten to 30% mark unless I was purposely doing it because quite simply when I would put the device down and knew I wasn’t going back to it I would plug it in. Both my work trucks have a USB-C port that can charge this device so when I’m working, I’m still capable of plugging in if need be, which I’ve never have to do because I’m never running the device 10 hours straight. I may use it for hours out of a 10 to 15 hour period and if I’m using it for a larger workload, then I would generally have it plugged in already.. it just seems like a pointless argument today. Give the device battery life to last three or four days when I go to bed every night the charger easily available to plug into at the end of every day… To be clear in my experience with the surface pro 9, leaving it on 120 Hz, And better performance mode, I’ve never used it in a long enough concurrent session to kill the battery before I had the opportunity I’m putting it down and plugging it in when I was done with it. Nobody complains about the Apple Watch battery life that can barely make it the day but that’s because you plug it in at night before you go to bed… And then the argument there is that it requires its own specific charger so now you have to carry a cable around that doesn’t match multiple devices so on the go, the watch is no good after a day.
@mikedropstech2 місяці тому
I think some of it is the anxiety of worrying you ‘might’ run out for some folks. Although personally, I hate carrying a charger and easily burn through surface batteries in a day consistently. 😔
@scepticozymandias92472 місяці тому
Reason why I will not subscribe and will not watch any of you videos anymore is the fact, that you didn't mention most important aspect of performance - when not plugged in lenovo will throttle performance and it is incomparable to macbook when using not plugged in. You spoke so much , yet you said nothing important in this video.
@mikedropstech2 місяці тому
All windows laptops throttle when not plugged in, even MacBooks do to a lesser extent so that’s not something unique to this Lenovo. But thanks for watching anyway 😁.

I was put in a postition where I had to move from MAC os (Macbook Pro M2 13inch) to a windows setup for my university degree as some softwares I just could not get on macos and whatever I could get was lacking the plugins. This for me was a huge limiting factor and a huge dissapointment as i've been with mac for so long, i was used to their trackpad and keyboard and the way everything just functioned so it was hard having to turn away.... I then spent the next few weeks searching for something that improved on the mac for me and in general, main things being RAM, storage and screen size I wasnt expecting week long battery as windows is definitely not as optimised as mac os and gaming laptops were not an option as my gaming rig consists of a SCAR 18 already and I did not want a chuncky heavy machine to lug around campus all day and needing to sit by a plug 24/7 I was also not a fan of the ASUS zenbook line as they just don't feel as premium and as rigid as a while back I owned one and the oled screen was fantastic but everything else was not good enough for my needs and they are not as well built as the surface laptops and the macbook are, arguably i'd say they are the best laptops built from a comfort,rigidity and quality point of view, I consider the surface the windows macbook. Eventually I found the Surafce laptop 5 on sale the i7 with 1tb ssd and 32gb ram the 15 inch model which I snapped up immediatley This was an upgrade in every aspect for me as at home I use windows so I was well used to the OS which is something worth noting if picking between mac and windows as 90% of systems used in teaching and in general are windows ran and I overall just prefer windows as I am used to it for many years now. Another big thing for me is chassis strenght and flexing and ive found both laptops to have little to no flex which is incredible considering the surface is a bit larger than the mac this was a huge selling point as I hate when I pick up a laptop and it flexes before it moves up. Other laptop I would have opted for if not the surface was the DELL XPS 13 I like the modern look it has but the keyboard stretching to the corners put me off and the size. now about a month in of owning and using my Surface 5 notably the battery has improved and serves me a whole day for my needs being coding, note taking etc etc I end the day with about 50% + - though I did spend some time deleting all the bloatware and ensuring the apps I didn't need in the background weren't running overall the surface has been an improvment for me over my mac, I can agree that if battery didnt matter I would still take the surface but something I never really had to think about was battery on my mac I went for 3-4 days without needing a charge that is the only trade off honestly.
