Whenever Sergei showed up, Everyone else was jumping for 2nd place.

Voloshin was completely out of control on this jump: way too high on the hop; arms doing god knows what on all three phases; over-rotating on the third phase; and entering the sand way ahead of his center of gravity. I honestly don't know how he managed a 17m74 jump! But...he managed to put a great mark out there. Give the guy credit!

Fortunately they went off the air just after the Wariso DQ was announced - Roger may have said something a bit stronger than it being a silly rule if they had carried on..

Do you have day two of the heptathlon?
@darrenshaw76720 днів тому
A poor run from Richardson and this race also showed that the selectors were too hasty in picking Wariso over Black. Black , I’m sure would have medalled here.

"What a day for British sprinting what a week for British sprinting" Stuart Storey summed this up what a result for GB and NI. The race was won on the top bend Walker put the pressure on Golding and Julian tightened up as he tried to respond in fact the other Doug, Doug Turner ran the best bend for me despite false starting and Golding almost blew the clean sweep he only just got it over Troy Douglas
@201081hero21 день тому
This was certainly a high point of team GB's week in Budapest but not wishing to take anything away from it the rest of Europe didn't have much to offer just like in the 100. I always remember the story of Troy Douglas from this event - he didn't run out of his lane during the race but afterwards he got physical with the officials because he believed he was unfairly done out of third place. For his behaviour not only was he disqualified from the 200 he was expelled from the championships.

I always felt bad for tony Jarrett. He was always in the shadow of Colin Jackson. Tremendous hurdler but in an era where there were lots of great hurdlers.

Nurutdinova made two mistakes in this race. Nurutdinova's first mistake was too fast on the first lap. Nurutdinova's second mistake was opening the inside in the final 100m. This is what Nurutdinova lost to Ellen van Langen.

This is a race that will go down in Olympic history forever. For Algerian women and God, Hassiba Boulmerka did the job and defeated Lyudmila Rogachova. The race was perfect. Hassiba Boulmerka marked Lyudmila Rogachova's back during the race. So Lyudmila Rogachova did not look very comfortable during the race, because of putting under pressure of Hassiba Boulmerka. Then Hassiba Boulmerka spurts with 200m to go. Lyudmila Rogachova has no strength left and has opened up a gap to Hassiba Boulmerka. Hassiba Boulmerka was the dominant force against Lyudmila Rogachova.

Hall running out of his lane and reinstated rightfully for no impediment. Shame gwen wasnt given this accordance
@dm71702 місяці тому
That was a disgraceful decision. If that rule is still in placr it needs amended to make room for relative variables: runner positiin in relation to impeder. Gwen Torrence won that race and is the double champ.
