Is that going to damage the grill if it's pulled on an angle? Also, I agree with 5784; that's a terrible pull point. If I could make a recommendation, if this is for recovery from being stuck, I would use a tree saver strap through a rim and proceed gently. If it's for towing, hire a professional flatbed service. I guess Toyota assumes that the cable will never get rotted and snap causing a spare wheel to fall of the vehicle on the highway making everyone behind you swerve to save there own lives~ AHHHHHHH!!!! WATCH OUT !!!!!!!!

All these _back breaking steps_ because Toyota wanted to make the Highlander a _people hauler_ instead of a sporty SUV. The 01 -04 have the spare inside the vehicle just like a car ( simple & easy ) Toyota Just couldn't leave well enough alone. Now we all have to crank - crawl - drag on the ground like a monkey neanderthal. All because of there stupid 3rd row kiddie seat ( that NOOOOOOBODY EVER USES )
