The general consensus is that Japan is very safe and comfortable as you've said here, but a lot of the people who talk about visiting and living in Japan, also including you, are men. I know that gender equality in Japan is not great, and stuff like the hostess culture make me feel pretty uncomfortable about the sexualisation and objectification of women. I know you travel a lot with female friends in Japan, have any of them ever mentioned feeling uncomfortable or unsafe, especially on public transport or at night?
