I thought you’d like this story: My husband and I were watching this video, and as soon as I saw the purple ink, I said, “That looks like Murasaki-shikibu.” He replied, “I don’t think so.” Before you wrote out and said the ink color, I got him to bet on it-winner gets to buy a fountain pen. 😁🖋️🏆

Well...I hope you make him buy you something fun!

I just recieved my KoP 1911 with the new style nib yesterday. I'm very surprised how the medium nib writes like a western medium. It's as smooth as glass, but it's a bit too wide of a nib for me. I may get the nib reground. Anyone have experience with doing this to their KoP?

I would love to see a video showcasing how you store and organize your pens and especially your inks :)

I have two or three videos on the subject. Just search my channel for "pen storage".

And why would I need a nib for about 350.00 where a Bock-10€-nib would do the job as well ... ?

I want this!!! ❤❤❤ Thank you for the honest review.

I noticed that all of your grail pens were rather recent. Is there a reason there isn't anything vintage in your grail category? Say a Waterman 58 or anything else - is it lack of design appeal, does the age eliminate practicality for you, or is it something else? PS. Like the dog blooper at the end!

I have seven of their pens purchased over the past four years, including one Giant 8, all purchased from their website. All have had flawless workmanship, although I returned one nib for flow adjustment as it was too wet. I paid to ship it back to them, and they paid in turn to ship the adjusted nib to me. I have had nothing but positive experiences with customer service, which has primarily been in the form of questions about materials, their specialty nib sizes, preferences for flow adjustments before ordering, and my one returned nib described above. They have provided me comparison pics of different materials when asked, and all their responses have been prompt, courteous, and helpful. I can’t think of any customer service experience in the fountain pen world that has been better, or better built modern pens that I have used. I’m glad to have them producing their fine instruments.

I just ordered a vintage model from the 60’s and I couldn’t be happier after watching this. I’m glad I didn’t go for the brand new one. I don’t like that Nib fit at all for this price point and I’m not sure I like the twist-on cap. This was a great review, thank you! ❤

Oh, 8 years later, and I can add something to this video. I have two Montblanc Meisterstuck 149's made in the mid-80's. I was presented with both of these as a "sales spiff" for being top salesman of a then name-brand computer. It came in a fancy, properly marked box (though white and much smaller than the black box you showed) so I know they are genuine. Outer shipping box was even a bit fancy and marked at USD $295.00. They *do not* have a serial number on the top band, but there *is* the word "Germany" engraved (possibly stamped) on it. The font is very small and, if your pen is older and the band is scratched, it may be hard to see without a loupe or good magnifier. I've used and love both of them. I do wish I had the full provenance for that particular batch of pens, though. The computer manufacturer bought *hundreds* of them to award for the whole U.S. Perhaps they specified no serial number, perhaps MB hadn't started using serial numbers. Someone may know, I sure don't. But I've used and loved them both since getting them.
