You have great motivation. I have built with wood for over 40 years, none of which were weather proof or over the road proof. If I were to take on what you are doing, I would use vinyl deck lumber and poly boards for the exterior and rough framing because the rain will never comprise the integrity of this material. If so, I hope you will make a camping video during your camping trips and tell us what you like and what you would do different. I am planning to make a bicycle camper and lots of what you show here apply as well for bicycle campers in my opinion.
