This makes me cry 😢I’ve “lost” one of my children who has shut me out with encouragement from my ex. I still have 2 of my 3 under my roof, one 25 and one nearly 19 but the youngest is now trans and hid that from me although prior she was the most feminine, most beautiful and loved dresses and pink and wearing bikinis and cold shoulder styles. I pray and worry for that child daily that the reasons for the current journey will come crashing down and cause further tragedy. It doesn’t feel like realizing what was ‘meant to be’ the anger feels like defiance and trying to fit in and stand out with friends who will all go separate ways after high school. I was shocked but attempted to be supportive and I agreed to address my child by ever-changing pronouns and names and bought my child, the new gender clothing and toiletries, etc. to have my child walk out the door the day after Christmas and unbeknownst to me, plan to never come back and that was two years ago. 😢😢😢 He is just 7 min away but refuses my texts and phone calls and my two other daughters confirm that he’s blocked me along with my ex. My youngest will be 18 in September and a high school senior. The school also hid this from me even though I was the residential parent and parent who made all school and medical decisions after the divorce and they had the paperwork. I relinquished custody of the child to my ex because it was hopeless; the court wouldn’t force my ex to honor the parenting plan which was 50% time for each of us - and the judge said for my kid to meet to talk to me at lunch or dinner and I was denied. It’s devastating! My ex used this situation to distance me from and take my kid from me!
