I’ll only leave a brief suggestion for the draft pool I would for sure grab Voynov (LW/RW, med elite), Sawatski (G, late gem) and O’Dell (LW, low elite gem). Well, another season is in the books and we've done quite well once again. Unfortunately, as you mentioned, money is going to be tight so hard decisions need to be made. To me, the easiest one is in goals. As you said, Brind'Amour is asking for way too much for a backup so he's the one we should move. Mikkola and Immonen can be our goalies and I'd bring back UPL as a safety should Immonen shows he's not ready. On defense, I'm not sure that having to defensive defensemen on the 3rd pair is the way to go; they'd have terrible chemistry and both are under 80ovr at the moment which is far from being ideal so I think that we need to bring back either ASP or Romanov to play with one of Taipalus or O'Dell. Maybe we give each of them a 20 games audition and make our final decision on which of the 2 stays for the remaining of the season (or if we need to get someone else at the deadline if neither are convincing). Asset management wise, we probably bring Romanov back; he's asking for less, he's the only Russian on our defense and we're not getting value if we let him walk while ASP is a RFA so we can get more value back if we trade him. On offense, one player I'm ready to walk away from might just be Perfetti. Apart from his 1 stellar season, his numbers haven't been quite impressive. I'm not saying we need to get rid of him at all cost but, if a team in the top 5 is willing to trade their pick and wants him, I'd consider it A LOT. The top 3 has a center with a rare nationality which would be gold for us with the nationality rule and, at #2 and #3, there are 3 studs dmen who also have rare nationalities. At number 5, McNeil is also interesting but he's another Canadian so, he might be able to replace Perfetti in a couple of year but the nationality wouldn't be as helpful. It's unfortunate that Stenberg's potential is dropping but I feel like this one is on us. The guy is now 26yo and we haven't given him a chance to play in the top 6 so it was to be expected. I think that he's a lock for the 3rd line now, unless we trade him out if we need more cap space. I'm also sad to see Panarin go... With the crazy season he had, even putting up crazy numbers when he was on the 3rd line, I was wishing he'd be back for another year while some of our prospects get more growth but, it is what it is. We should be bringing Lindholm back on a year to year basis (or maybe we give him 2 years this time because he's the captain and go year to year on his next contract if he hasn't retired by then). In a perfect world (and, if we're moving our Perfetti), our lineup would probably look like this: Valicevic - McIntyre - Rooby ??? - Lindholm - Fiala (or Fiala - Lindholm - Emelin) Stenberg - Emelin - Brylin (or Stenberg - ??? - Brylin) Busenius - Seikola - Prucha/Lucic/Afanasyev Hutson - Seider Erixon - Ramirez Romanov - Taipalus/O'Dell Svozil Mikkola - Immonen UPL If we go Lindholm 2C and Emelin 3C, I think it has to be a "this year only" move and we swap them next year which means having to move out Stenberg as he can't play with Lindholm. As for the available forward spot on line 2 or 3 (again, if we're trading Perfetti), here are some options, some which are very short term while others could be a 4 to 6 years option, a bit like Panarin has been: Larkin Barzal Savoie Lafrenière Sprong Kuzmenko There will be good options to fill Perfetti's spot on the UFA market so, my main goal would be to make a splash at the draft if there's a top 5 pick available for trade. If we're not moving our 1st round pick, some of the better targets for us at the draft could be #26 - Piispanen (although I'm weary of 1 year away players this late) or #40 - Ferguson with a rarer nationality. Also, as part of the returns for ASP and Brind'Amour, I think we should target 19 to 21yo prospects that teams have on their blocks if possible. With some of our players on the verge of retirement and with money being tight going forward, I'm not sure that trading them for picks that are 5 years away is the way to go; we probably want to get someone able to help much sooner than that. This team keeps getting close and is always a contender, lets push them over the hump! Go 'fleet

can you please advise what to do if you draft many prospects but cant sign them as roster is full. I cant find area in franchise mode where you can see how full your roster is. Each year i release some ufa and rfa which are playing in ahl and nhl but still its full roster.

It could be really bad coaching. The reason why players are doing so much worse on the sharks than other teams could be because on other teams a bad coach would be fired a lot earlier whereas on the sharks you are technically controlling the team but not changing anything so the bad coach doesn't get fired and players keep having bad stats.

The EA sim is so bad, how players keep potential when performing poorly. And don't get me started on players like mcdavid getting high 80 points and weird players having insane seasons out of nowhere. My only wish for NHL 25 is to have good sims where players put up accurate points like Mcdavid and Matthews with respectable save pct for goalies.
