I remember watching this when it was first broadcast. I initially watched it for Andrew Stevens and discovered Don Johnson in the process. It was the first thing I'd ever seen him in. Watched him in everything he's done since then. Thank you so much for posting these movies. John Jakes was the hot property book-wise back then.

1:16:23 This made me laugh out loud. The way it was shot makes it just silly. Too long between the time he says for her to run and her actually running. Looks more like he calculated the timing and yelled for her so she would block the shot coming at him.

This movie is from one of my favorite books from Anya Seton

What happened to the little girl? Was she left alone at Dragonwyck with the servants? Did I miss a scene that tied up this subplot? Otherwise, a wonderful old classic.

What a performance. Vincent Price at his most malevolent. Gene Tierney was a really beautiful lady, but unfortunately she led a tragic life. Agatha Christie's novel The mirror cracked from side to side was based on this. I kept shouting marry the doctor but of course she didn't!!!! First class film, they don't make them like this anymore 😊❤

A lockdown with Gene Tierney would have been easy to endure.

For me and many others, Ms. Tierney will never be surpassed as the most beautiful of all.

Watch for Paul Newman's line flub right near the end, at 49:29, when he forgets that Albert Salmi's character was supposed to refer to him as, "Arthur" [for "author"]. Instead, Newman initially said, "Bruce", which was the name of Salmi's character. Also, at 45:13, the prop revolver clicks on an empty chamber [safety first, you know]. Ah, live television.
