I'm now 72 and there's never ever been a band better than Cliff and the Shads' to me...Ive even been around the world to see them live..Wonderful wonderful music, rock and times and most of all the pleasure they've given to millions the world over. Thank you thank you for the most special times in our lives. There aren't the words to express the joy we've had in our lives given to us by you guys, Cliff and The Shadows....

I was very lucky to have worked with Cliff at about the time of this concert, when I represented his wine brand in the UK. He’s genuinely such a nice down to earth gentleman. In our meetings he was so pleasant, open minded and professional. After a meeting in Portugal he came and met with my family and stayed chatting for ages, telling us about the best local beaches etc. Our middle daughter was at the time obsessed with the movie Summer Holiday so Cliff even sang a bit of the song to her. Such a nice guy 😊

Hank Marvin's influence went far and wide. It wasn't just his perfect picking of notes that influenced later guitarists like Greene, Clapton, Page, and Gilmour. Nor was it just his perfect use of the tremolo bar that influenced virtuosos like Jeff Beck and Mark Knopfler. It even extended to the fiesta red of the Fender Stratocasters that he and Bruce Welch played. Mark Knopfler played one the same colour and even Kurt Cobain used fiesta red in his own signature Fender JagStang.
