You talking about applications in the region of 30-40GHz (oh my gosh,,,) I wonder what kind of applications would they be. I thought that for anything above 10-11 GHz it them becomes a military matter Only they have the budget and the means to be able to play with such ultra crazy high frequencies.

I swear , you make the best videos. Thank you for all your time and hard work. Is there a set gear ratio that these watches use or does it depend on each manufacturers design?? If a drive mechanism (like the one contained in your featured watch) were scaled up , what kind of mechanical power would it yield? Would it be enough to drive a small generator ? Thanks again for such a cool video!!!

If I see a thumbnail or title that seems to be trying to get my attention I will actively ignore it. If your mug[face] is all you have to show for your thumbnail, it tells me that the video is going to be about you, and not something interesting. If your title doesn't specify what it's about "We visited Saskatchewan and got THIS" I'm not going to be interested. I don't even care if you're in my subscription feed. I've only got a limited time to watch youtube videos, and a good youtube video is like being female. If you have to tell people you are, you aren't.

your channel is just excellent, and perfect, I also recommand the channels for others, also support it by becoming a patreon. I know how costy such productions are, on one side the video takes time and afford to provide good quality and the instruments presented and time to prepare. I was in the educational tv business as author and moderator many many years at that time in studio environment, extremly costy for example the first 26 tv series each 15 min produced for the NDR (north germany tv - public television) at that time (around 1986) cost around 2 millions (USD) - sponsored by the government educational department and research department. This was manily used for serveral month at the set at Studio Hamburg many people, cutting , sound track etc etc. and also hardware some sponsored also, also we had to write a book which exactly each text and scene described. Later worked at BR in Munich and Last at the 2000er producing in my blue box studio and electronic cutting liek nowadays.

Hi - I love you videos, you are the engineer I could not be. working in management consulting now - not as much fun :) electronics just a hobby now. One point though: you show a lot of teardowns, demo, repairs, ... of equipment that most of us cannot afford.I prefer your videos on the older equipment. Maybe comparing old and new equipment in the same video might make sense. I have been able to repair so much thanks to your videos!

Typically I'll watch youtube engineering videos at 1.5-2x speed. This is the ONLY channel I usually have to put to 1x, in order to pay close attention and absorb it all. Very information-dense, yet still presented in an accessible way. Thank you very much for your efforts, I continue to learn so many things from you, and have so many ah-HA moments!

Hi Shahriar, I have just taken delivery of one of these units. Fortunately its battery isn't leaking and it came fully charged! I have done a few initial tests using a signal generator and comparing it with an HP 8482A sensor and it's looking pretty good from 50-550 MHz at in input level of -10 dBm and no attenuation, as expected from the data sheet for the AD8317. Currently I'm puzzled about the pSemi digital step attenuator. You indicated a part number of PE43601MLI but that is a 6-bit device with a maximum attenuation of 15.75 dB. user-rw7md5mp7d suggested that it might be a PE43713. I have checked that. It is a 7-bit device with a maximum attenuation of 31.75 dB, as required, but its data sheet doesn't seem to match parts of the data sheet that you show in your video. (The same is true for the data sheet for the PE43601MLI.) I wasn't too worried about this, but now I'm frustrated because I haven't figured out how to open the case of the unit to look at it. Can you tell me how to do that?

your videos, analisys, reviews, all top notch, sometimes waay too much for someone like me xD i have been in electronics all my life and sometimes i get lost with your videos, and have to go back and watch again, but it's not your fault, it's mine because i'm not as good yet, or maybe it's the language barrier? (hispanic here), dunno, i guess i'm not smart enough to follow sometimes. don't worry about everyone's time, if ppl watch you, there is a reason, it's either your personality, your content, or both! (both btw xD) weird that only 120K subs, never really noticed that, maybe a liiiiitle bit of clickbait on the thumbs? yeah i know i don't like to do that either but.. it's youtube..:) you gotta do what you gotta do right?

the front panel interface/buttons look unusual for HP/Agilent/Keysight. For example the layout and the typefaces/fonts of the text on buttons, use of abbreviated terms... it seems as if decisions were made without input from their usual industrial design style guide.

Thanks so much for sticking to these principles despite it being the harder way. I'll try to give back as soon as I can. The one thing that really stands out for me in your videos is how well they are structured or rather how well you structure your thoughts and articulation. You made and make me strive for clearer process of thought. I realized this is something that can be trained as well.

Hello Shahriar, thank you very much for your videos and staying to your principles which are also mine. Within the last decade I notice that it is harder and harder to find good source of information in the internet. Many interesting forums have closed, search machine algorithms seems to degrade in a time were everybody wants to be in first place of google search making it more and more difficult to find specific information. I will definitively continue to support you on a free base for your valuable work. I learned a lot from your videos for my hobbies and my job as a development engineer. I am looking forward for your next videos.

I've been following along since the beginning. Your intro graphics have gotten fancier, your equipment racks have become much more crowded, and your hair has even changed colour a bit. But there's one thing that hasn't changed: Even with formal training in physics/math/EE, and many years building in high tech, I still always learn something from every video I watch. No exceptions. I only wish I had time to watch them all. And make no mistake, you're a role model for personal & professional integrity. It's a feature, not an impediment. Not to belittle your technical teachings, but in the long run I suspect your greatest contribution may be to have served as a long-term example of generosity and excellence, especially for your younger viewers. ♥
