Your 60 htz phone is pretty bad, mines nothing like that.

I switched mine from 90 to 60 and it's fine, no noticeable difference.

I don't notice any difference, changed my phone to 60 and the battery lasts twice as long.

You're comparing apples and oranges. Apart from the panel type (IPS vs VA), there are so many parameters in your comparison: company (LG vs. ViewSonic), size (27" vs 32"), flat vs curved. This comparison is worth nothing. You cannot conclude anything about one variable if there are 4 different variables between the two items.

Honestly most people won't notice black smear outside of a totally black website with white text. But you literally can't miss the IPS glow in a fully dark scene. And these days, lots of content is darker.

Why would you choose a VA display if you're primarily doing coding or web browsing? Both of these consist of many scenarios where the background is dark with lighter font colors, which makes the black smearing more noticeable.

Spent about 4 days of non stop reading, watching and digging forums about ghosting/smearing on VA -- since I want to get 27 2k curved monitor, and set my eyes on Gigabyte G27QC. Some mention it, some ignore it, some say it is there, but only matter if you care about it (great answer, indeed...). Not sure how GAMING monitor with smearing can have Gaming at 8.2 on Rtings... No idea how it works, really. The sad thing is - I just have to find some huge store with working monitors, and creep around, comparing ISP with VA, until I just find what I like.

IPS is just not for me. I absolutely cannot stand IPS glow. Totally breaks immersion for me since i play mostly dark horror games. Also cannot stand black smearing and ghosting in VA either. So i always have been and always will be TN Gang, lol.

Regarding 1:00, there's an issue with the used method for finding out whether the screen is truly uniformly curved: The test performed with the lineal is misguided. Since the lineal is only partially making contact when used on the edges and fully when measuring in the center, the results are not comparable. -> To better test this, you could only push the lineal so far towards the edge that its outer corner is still making contact with the screen (not hanging in midair, as seen around 1:05). If you want to get even closer to the edges (and keep getting comparable results), you'd have to use a shorter lineal. This isn't to say that your hypothesis regarding ununiformly curved screen is wrong, btw, just that the method being used in the video isn't suited to find it out. I can't make a statement about that either, since I have no curved screen to test it (+ any such test would be just on this specific model and not necessarily representative for all models). (Possibly, someone might've pointed pointed this out already, but I couldn't find it with a quick skim and wanted to mention it in case someone was confused by this test as much as I was myself.)

What about 1800R or 1900R... it won't be as skewed as 1000R in these cases shown here, right? Closer to flat?

VA has its issues but it's still good even for gaming. A spec wise apple-to-apple comparison also shows that VA always sold at a lower price (at least on the online market where I always buy electronics). So, there's that. We pay more for the better quality panel (IPS). Price wise, it makes sense for it to have the upper hand in most cases. This video is great for those coming from IPS panel monitor that considered to purchase a VA panel monitor. Takes time for them to get used to if they're willing to make the switch.

I run my VA panel Overdrive for almost 3 years, it's broken now XD. Ghosting in VA is really noticeable on CoD games or much more darker games you can really notice it. Or even moving the mouse cursor on darker ends of the monitor you can definitely see it. I mistakenly bought a VA panel instead of IPS its the biggest disappointment I got.

i have no ghosting With Va g7 0 ghosting issue in all games with ips have low repsonse times when i want to flick shoots it lags.

I have a 5120x1440 45 inch monitor in the middle of my desk and 2 27 inch monitors, 1 on the left and right of the middle monitor. I was trying to figure out how I could bring the side monitors down to match the middle one. The 27 inch monitors are taller than the ultrawide. I want to find a way to make them match all the way across.

THANK YOU! Knowing I can replace the WIFI module is really helpful since the Intel Wireless AC 9260 160MHz card that comes with the TUF doesn't support 802.11ac very well. I used to just plug in ethernet, but that's not an option for me at the moment.

Nice to know about the importance of choosing the right curvature. RTINGS gave high scores to the Gigabyte G27QC and rated it as the best monitor within its price range, and it has a curvature of 1500R. I may buy it. I've never had a curved monitor, so I hope it's not difficult to get used to. There's endless debate about IPS vs VA. IMO, VA sounds more appealing. Realistically, either panel is going to look great compared to my 14-year-old TN panel that I'm still using. As for viewing angles, I honestly don't even know why it's listed as a con when it comes to PCs. How often is the screen being viewed by multiple people? With a TV, I can understand the desire for greater viewing angles, but to say that a flaw with a PC monitor is that you need to be seated directly in front of it.. I fail to see the problem there, unless for some reason you move your chair around a lot, but generally I think we only move forward and back.

I have a problem. The mouse only moves in my monitor, but not my laptop and when I gointo the settings it only shows up on the laptop screen so I can't select anything because the mouse is stuck in the monitor screen...... what should I do!?

I will never understand how someone could say something is good unless you do something like coding, and then proceed to suggest it is really bad with very dark background and light/white text. How is it possible to spend 10+ hours a day looking at code if it's not light text on a dark background and not completely fubar your eyes in a couple of years???
