I didn't like the bit about not complaining. Just accept BS and swallow it? Why? So the same can happen again or two others? Fuck that... lots of cheek turning is what turned us into cowards that can't communicate towards consensus or compromise on political issues. If a person never suffers consequences of their decisions/actions/words, then they have no chance to learn a lesson and will continue to harm - why just suck it up? What am I missing?

It's ironic how a successful general and military leader wrote of musings over stoicism and to not give in to anger or ego I suppose having seen of where both extremes can lead us he realised that it wasn't worth it

Uppity imperialist puffery! While there are excellent bits of intelligence inside, a careful in depth study or meditation on these assumptions is not warranted. They are a prescription for perpetual patriarchy, and have led to violence and disunion of species. These meditations contain much talk of reason, charity and brotherly love while limiting those attributes to the few or even The One.

A virtuoso performance, here, as are all your other readings of Seneca. Many thanks for bringing this wisdom to the ears of a modern public (so much in need of wise words and moral teachings)...

This was fantastic. Easier to listen to than to implement in ones own life. But you can feel yourself melting just by attempting it.

Beyond the masterful presentation of critical information - I felt like I was listening to the original BBC broadcast of "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy!" I found myself mesmerized and drifting off to various scenes of Arthur Dent and Ford Prefect! I will be relistening and periodically shaking my head briskly whilst doing so, in order to stay concentrated on the educational elements! Great job me mucker!

The Hitchhikers Guide is one of my all time favourite audio performances. I used to listen it all the time as a kid, maybe the style has seeped in!

@@VoxStoica I found the original BBC broadcast buried in the BBC archives and will use that as my fall-back listen-to if I can't find a good podcast while on a long drive! I am still hearing nuanced jokes and storylines that I missed the past 30 times I listened (read the book, listened to the audiobook, saw the TV show, saw the movie). In fact, I named our podcast "Just These Guys, You Know?" in homage to Gag Halfrunt. Whenever anyone would praise Zafod Beeblebrock, Dr. Halfrunt would reply, "he's just a guy, you know?" Anyway, thanks for the excellent tutorial on Audacity. I am endeavoring to make an audiobook of my book. "Twelve Two: How To Transform Your Mind." Random question, if I recorded the audio, would you be interested in doing the editing and mastering?

It's like all the laws in America, it's all meaningless. America arbitrarily enforces its laws so for the remainder of my life I will arbitrarily follow those laws. -George W. O'Shea My plates are out of date by four months and I will never pay them unless I'm first paid what I'm rightfully and lawfully owed for my inventions that I sent to the American embassy in Dublin Ireland.. they made them all.. but I'm homeless in Missouri waiting to be paid what I'm owed. It's congress'duty to promote science and technology and I have more inventions.. dumbasses.. Hypocrites. 🇺🇸🏴☠️ I'm only homeless because I'm using my "right" to protest. As long as America doesn't pay me, the more hypocritical it looks to those that are aware of my situation. I'm in a parking lot on Hawks Nest.. By delaying it this long, all America has done, is ensure that I leave America quicker. I'll spend my money elsewhere. I donate to charity everywhere but America now. Well done hypocritess. You're all too stupid to come up with everything I've thought up... Enjoy your downfall. 🔮 ⚖️ ♾️ 🎱

Ive got a good morning routine.. I wake up without alarm, whenever the hell I feel like it, usually 4:30am sometimes 3:30am sometimes 5:30am... But the first thing I do is 100 situps. I just roll out of bed and go. Ive been doing this for 4 years now without missing a day except when I had covid. The next thing I do is go for a 3-8 mile walk or run while it's still dark and there are no people to distract me. When I get back, I cook some oats drink tea and muddle around checking emails, reading statements, playing guitar, meditating, or journaling as I please. What I do and it works for me, is I keep my expectations of myself super low and meet them regularly, but I stay consistent with my constant but low level challenges. This avoids burnout.
