too many operations! I used to work at Specialloid Pistons in Leeds, UK, 60 years ago. We gripped the rough casting at the head end, faced them to length and counterbored to fit a spigot. Drilled the crosshole to rough size, Put on spigot and helt with a long rod and pin, turned the top, O/D and ring grooves all at one set up. Then finish turned and relieved the sides, then finish reamed the pin hole!

Гараж 54 доказал что эти литые поршня обработаные токарным станком летят только так. 1 алюминий болле мягкий 2 литой алюминий болле пористый чем кованый. 3 тех процес по изготовлению юбки тяжело соблюсти а фактически нереально на подвале. 4 вес поршней в идеале +-3-6 грамм Двс на 3600 оборотах ( а это 50-65 км в час) в говно готов порвать эти поршня из подвала,

The ingenuity and craftsmanship are impressive. But, with all due respect, the idea that you can snap a camshaft in half and have nothing else be wrong with it besides the breaking point is silly.

You can not take a finished size item and cast it and expect a replica. They have not allowed for any shrinkage in the cast product, nor any machining allowance. Yes they have made a sub standard piston that when machined is not the same size as the original by a long way. You could see that it was at least a 1/2 inch small in diameter by the ammount that was showing where it was gripped in the chuck.

Всё отлично. Из отходов делать поршни, это верх инженерной мысли. Технология металлов этим парням неведома совсем. Так же и про чертежи зачем нужно вспоминать? Удивляться нечего о прехватах и клинах. Главное делать и не сидеть сложа руки. "Супер".
