People talk about what Ali vs Tyson would have looked like…it would have looked a lot like this. Except I think Frazier had an even better left hook.

That's NOT the significance of this fight. It was the ONLY fight in Ali's career that he suffered a cut.

That was a good fight. Bugner danced and moved too. His name is all but forgotten but put up a good fight.

It must have been disheartening to light Ali up only to watch it have absolutely zero effect on him. Dude had the chin of chins.

Revisonist history calling Ali the People's champion in 1972. He was very controversial for the majority of Americans in 1972. In 1974 when he fought Foreman, there was a poll done, and more Americans wanted Foreman to finally knock Ali out. The Foreman fight is when America changed its mind about Ali. I hate revisionist history.
@mikes69613 години тому
I've never heard any of the great heavyweights talk about how hard Ali punched. They talk about Shavers and Frazier perhaps. Did he hit hard or just alot? I'd say he must of had something considering his knockouts, but was it placement or power?
@syourke33 години тому
Al Lewis. Didn’t he play Grandpa on The Munsters?
@matts7194 години тому
Ali really sat down on that combo that knocked him out. Ali could bang when he chose to sit down and use his legs to create power.

Watched this on a replay on Wide World of Sports. Ali had predicted a 9th round ko, but Oscar shook him up. Howard Cosell seemed obsessed with Alis' lack of dancing. But then, the unexpected, sudden knockout!

Another fight the Un-Greatest lost that the judges gave him. There were 4 more making Ali's record actually 55-9 with 37 KOs. Does that sound "great" to you? Joe Lewis 68-3 with 52 KOs. Rocky Marciano 49-0 with 42 KOs. You were lied to!
@jeffriessman969319 годин тому
Joe Lewis never fought black fi.Guess he's definitely not the best.Never had anyone like Ali in in their time.No one close. 60s Ali was great.The seventies ali was not so great. Pound for pound, I would put him up against anyone.Isn't that encouraging that tells me. That's the sixties all i'm talking about Only that version of him.
@jamesdavis603618 годин тому
@@jeffriessman9693 What does that mean, never fought black fighters. He did & he beat them too. In his prime, he would of destroyed the 60s Ali. The 60s Ali never fought anyone great. Remember, Ali never had a knockout punch. That means 15 rounds with the Brown Bomber. Good luck with that.
@AhmedMasjid10013 годин тому
Ali fought all the Greats in his time. And beat them. Last two losses were after he retired. And Ali never tried to hurt people, even though he could. Joe Louis couldn't beat Roy Jones Jr.

A Titan? Bugner? More like a bum! And the Un-Greatest couldn't put him away. You know how he got that name, the greatest? He called himself that. So the sports columnists starting calling him that. Is this record great? 55-9 with 37 KOs Joe Lewis 66-3 with 52 KOs Rocky Marciano 49-0 with 43 KOs These 2 fighters would of knocked this nobody Bugner out in 3 rounds. You were lied to!
