So peak & trough test shows drug concentrations in specific tested organs? Or is this test showing amount of the active drug working physiologically-pharmacologically in serum levels in specific organs? It’s not indicative of effect on perception at any time?
@NursingSchoolExplained3 дні тому
Peak and through measure the serum concentration of a specific drug to determine steady state, dosing, and metabolism of that specific drug in a person's body. Hope this helps!

Hands down you are the best nursing instructor on line. Instead of giving general signs and symptoms to memorize you explain the pathophysiology beautifully. Then we can predict and understand the reasons for the signs and symptoms. Thank you!

Thank you so much for your feedback! My goal is to explain things in a logical way so that you can understand the concept or disease process rather than memorizing data! Good luck in your studies!!! 😊

Nice clear explanation. My cardiologist mentioned this and your video makes it easy to understand. I had an attack when I was 50 and this was a wake-up call for me. Since then Ive been going to the gym regularly 2-3 times per week for 1 hour on the days (I'm now 67) and I am told this has helped my body to build the collateral circulation. Thanks for making this clear!

Wow this video was so helpful. I love how you structured your lesson and the organization of all the signs/symptoms, labs, and things to monitor for into body systems. It was so easy to follow, and I can actually summarize what you said after just watching one play through because of how you organized everything. I have my advanced pharm and patho exam on Monday. Thank you so much!

no flush?
@NursingSchoolExplainedМісяць тому
Great question! It is very important to make sure that that maintenance IV fluid is compatible with the IV push medication first. Once that is verified, the med can just be pushed without needing a flush as the maintenance fluid helps to flush the medication. If the patient has no maintenance fluids but only a saline lock, you definitely need to flush the IV before and after the medication administration. Hope this helps!
