This still seems very suspicious. Danya is one of the best in the world at online blitz-i'd be shocked if even Magnus or Hikaru could consistently beat him out of openings this terrible.

I’d love to hear the joint interview of Brandon, Andrew, and Danya.

Dude cheated. He did it for attention. Just like hans. Ban his accounts and never talk about him again. Please do not invite him to talk.

So... someone found something new in chess. Something that works and nobody knows how to counter it. Something so good it gets You banned for cheating 😂 This is actually great stuff! I wonder what there will be of it.

Let the guy play in real life against the guy and see if he is as consistent.

As a nonchess player, it seems to make sense someone of at least comparable skill levels playing the same, but unusual, line hundreds of times would play it better than someone unfamiliar with the line

whether he had been banned before was something that he didn't share about himself.
@rhybrid28934 хвилини тому
Just because something can't be comprehended (even by the best) doesn't mean that it is cheating. I'm not saying anyone accused him of it, but as someone who has been accused of and banned for cheating in an ego-shooter game myself, i can sympathize with him. Im not saying it is the case, but i think it is possible that some people, especially in chess, are extremely accustomed to certain "lines" and responding to the opponents "lines". Perhaps the way of thinking about certain positions is also narrowed down in a way and thus makes it difficult to find the right move which will lead to a beneficial exchange/position maybe 3 or 5 or 10 moves down the line, with every move straying away from the "main line", making it more and more difficult for the opponent who is mainly focused on playing and responding to the main lines. That's just what entered my mind. I could be wrong or there could be some truth in this.
@Devilfish666634 хвилини тому
I think what a lot of ppl just dont understand (and ironically Danya is living proof!) including Kramnik is that high 2500/low 2600 GMs that play thousands of blitz games per year can absolutely destroy a top player one day in a session...and if they study an ultra weird opening in 3+0 (increment would have changed everything for sure) it may well result in a landslide victory one day and especially against smbd who doesnt have the chess intuition of the absolute top players (Danya is very good but his intuition is puny compared to Hikaru/Magnus/Nepo). I hope this gets sorted out.

I believe Brandon. This constant cheating paranoia is out of control.
@user-el7rr6jr6z35 хвилин тому
Gotham needs to 1v1 Brandon in 10 games and see if he can beat him.
@Knighttwister35 хвилин тому
NO he shouldn't do the match. He has nothing to prove. Hikaru can have fun speedrunning botez gambit but other grandmasters can't just sack an exchange? There is literally no proof he cheated. He won his games thanks to tactics and mistakes from Danya.
@YaBoiMoustafa35 хвилин тому
Doesn’t it take time for chess engines to generate the best move? I feel like it would be hard to cheat in blitz. If he can play this opening on stream then go back and analyze the game, walking people through his thought process after every move then I don’t think he’s cheating. The Hans allegations were much stronger because he literally couldn’t explain his moves post game

It strikes me that society has faced this issue before and we actually do have a solution: due process. It's high time that online platforms, not just in chess but across the board, provide the same rights in their disciplinary process that people have in real life. The right to confront one's accuser, to see the charges and evidence, the right to present a defense before an impartial arbiter, etc.

@dantodd43 хвилини тому
I don't think a live "you have to play this opening" event would work. The opening works, largely due to getting your opponent off balance. If your opponent knows they are going to be facing the same opening and they prepare for it I doubt it will be as successful as it was.
@Yuxqriii43 хвилини тому

@samiraperi46744 хвилини тому
Statistical proof is a likelihood, not certainty. At million bans a month even 99.9999% certainty gives one false positive a month, and it's harder to tell if a GM level player is cheating because they're closer to how an engine would play. Then again, they also do moves engines don't understand. What I'm saying is, the better you are the harder it will be to tell if you're cheating at any given point.
@Sisup0344 хвилини тому
bro how long is this guy yapping about these two realities
@Exponaut_R-0145 хвилин тому
This is clearly just an insanely obscure opening that no one in their right mind would ever play. This is like a super GM preparing for a4 h4 from white no one does that and either your nerves get to you or you get inside your head and you blunder something wondering how they’re playing the Huh What Attack against you and it’s working Or you play a good game and never lose the advantage and you win There’s not really an in between other than luck but we all know there’s many situations where you have coin flip odds of picking a disastrously wrong move and not even realize it
