I'm Hoping, when ever I was in the hive things just felt out of sink, scattered kind of chaotic. I think that we got that 1st nice weather and she LAYED up the full box. Then we got some cold and I noticed a drop in population, I think she lost a bunch of old winter bees and the remaining newer bees seemed to be scrambling to keep up. At least that is the feeling I got when in them and from watching. This should allow me to hold on to the viable eggs+larva in the stronger hive while find out if she is failing or not. Dropping her in the the nuc should let her and her bees kind of restart. At least that is my thought/plan. We I'll know with in the week, kind of interesting either way it works out. 😁Thanks for stopping by, Blessed Days...

Maybe about 3 or 4 weeks, the native blackberries are starting and I'll get the Himalayan BB starting up about 3 weeks-ish after the natives normally. So maybe close to the end of the month 1st week of June if we get nicer weather. The rain is great ahead of the berry blooms but I am really getting tired of grey days. Thanks Rickey, I'm finally feeling good about them, I was a bit iffy for a while they were REAL small. But they are kicking it in gear good and getting traction. I have 10 queens coming the middle of this month 4 of them are Caucasian and 6 more of the Sol Stock so they will be my main focus of growth. I'm getting 2 or 3 brood frames from Harris at the same time so I can set them up in instant singles. I am Hoping that way they can hit the deck running. I get so MUCH rain that it seemed my largest issue to over come. I figured if I can keep the rain off them it has to help. This is only going int my 3rd season so I am still plenty new and adjusting my over Wintering. Still working on that "My Style" of beekeeping but I believe I am on the right track for my location. A red maple, it started out very small, the acclamation or what ever it's called tries to eat the little tree. I have to cut and pull it out every year, I must have missed some this year.

🤨Because they are eating it and growing of course.😂 No we have these 2 or 3 day rain breaks and I keep a little patty and syrup on them for those days that get out less. That way they have an over ample amount of food types, I feel it is better for them during my Spring. Plus as long as they are eating it, they must want it. You have to remember my bee season is just starting, unlike yours that has been running for a month or 2. Also it's a Rocket fuel patty and if you notice it's smaller amounts. Mostly it's just in there for those down times. Blessed Days Phillip.

I asked because I lost a colony due to it being pollen bound. If you have some drawn comb, I'd recommend swapping some of that out.

@@rtxhoneybees It's all good, mostly I keep a little extra on at this point in my Spring because of the rainy weeks that we are still having. I don't want them slowing down if they are stuck in for 4 or 5 days. I'll take another look after this rain and if they still have all the extra pollen, I'll pull a few frames to save for splits. I just want them to finish off our rainy Spring with plenty of food stores. With Blackberries just a round the corner I need them making as many bees atm as they can.

Those a OA "Wood Whitening" Strips,😁 turns out they also help control mite numbers.👍 Harris makes them for me, they are easy to make but he makes big batches so I just get them from him.

Ya I made mine, I'm not sure they would be good in SHB land I could see them having hiding places. these are just taped together with duct tape. I lot of people use just the silver bubble stuff.
