Thank you very much for the previous comments, I will ask for one which one do you advise me the 3v or the magnacut?

3v is my favroite if they are making them in 3v still. Sometimes they do special runs of them. Heard great tthings about magnacut. Even the m690 is a very good steel.

@tradbowpodcast23 години тому
Lay the hose out in the sun for a couple hours. It will make it soft and let you do this to re train it and get the twists out.

@bighammer3464День тому
The problem is NOBODY sets their hose on the ground gently. No kinking would occur regardless of how you wind the hose. If one of the loops gets misaligned and gets under another loop then you’re screwed regardless. Take the first loop for instance. If it is not sitting pretty at the top and winds on the outside of the whole bundle at the bottom and you start pulling you’re done for.
@tradbowpodcastДень тому
Thru but the this over under method 8s the best way to prevent hose damage
@dankeiferДень тому
Roll up your extension cords and heavy rope the same way. It is called the "over under" technique and has actually been around since ancient times.

Snake boots leak water, therefore they’re a non starter for me. My pants tucked in my rubber boots with knee socks have always worked for me. I once called lacrosse and asked if they’ve ever tested their normal rubber boots against a snake bite, they said no. How to you have a test without a control? They know snakes aren’t getting through the rubber boot that’s why they won’t test it, they want that fear of snakes to sell boots.
@tradbowpodcastДень тому
Wear whatever you want. I will not be in the woods without snake boots. I've seen 8 cott9n and 4 timbers in the last 5 times out in the swamps. I am and always will be in snake boots

I learned this technique from a friend many years ago. Been doing it that as much as possible ever since. I am perplexed though, as I have a hose that simply will not conform to anything. The only way to “not fight” it is to not roll it. But, maybe I will have learned something here anyway and I can try again with my errant hose.
@tradbowpodcast23 години тому
Stretch it out, lay it in the sun for a couple hours and then do it. You can work the bad twists out of it.

New bowhunter here with question - as you say a deer can process information 4 times faster than humans. This I presume includes tracking an arrow flying towards them. So - they hear the bow which causes them to look and swivel ears quickly to that sound. They then see an arrow with big bright yellow spinning fletchings making a bit of noise flying towards them. Given how fast they process information is it equivalent to us seeing a bright object flying at 40 fps towards us? 🤔 Pretty sure most people could duck or at least move a bit on seeing a highly visible object coming at that speed which is maybe equivalent to a deer ducking something doing 160 fps. Maybe do an experiment and use orange or brown fletchings that are not as visible and see if the reactions are less? Most ambush hawks falcons and owls are drab brown. I know it makes it harder to find your arrow etc but the positives may be better hits. Be interested in what you think. Keep up the great work!
@tradbowpodcast3 дні тому
Great point and great thought process. But from my experience the deer do not need to rotate ears or look. They hear the sound know something is not right and react. Its like a reflex. They don't run off from the shot. They duck and turn and when the arrow misses and hits the ground the deer calms down and carry on doing what they do. I don't think it's as visual as it is audio and 6th sense.
@AllenOliver-do4pcДень тому
Dead on Jason. Duck and turn. They are flight animals.

This is how you coil wire rope, no other way to do it. I was taught this by a crane operator 25 years ago and have passed it on many times. I now go nuts if someone rolls up an expensive extension cord incorrectly. You can mess up the sheathing by doing it wrong just once.

As a guide one of the reasons why I liked guiding bowhunters was because there was usually pretty obvious evidence of the success of the shot. From what I saw with the animal behavior (animal kicked out, sat down, reacted one or another) and the forensics of a post shot investigation its a bit easier to give good or bad news to bowhunters. I lost count how many gun hunters SWORE they made a perfect shot even though I saw dust kick up 10 feet from animal in the spotter. Bowhunters for me tended to be the most self critical on a hunt. They always wanted to know exactly where and how which was usually a good thing but I thought it was funny how many thought they made good shots only to tell them they did not hit fur and how many times people were convinced they missed when we walk up to a very dead animal.
@tradbowpodcast3 дні тому
Great information and appreciate the comment. All of that makes sense. And guilty of think I hit when I didn't myself. When we shoot and see where the arrow is flying and the the deer drops and pops back up, from our view with our eye speed of 1/50th of a second we see it as the arrow passing thru a stationary animal.
