gotta ask.. About those alligator clips.. Are those suited for that high voltages? Be honest. Great vid rly, but just watching your hands so close to the cables.. High voltage can easily jump through the cable's outer layer. And what about the screwdriver? pls use pvc rod or something.

Usual hard drives for home users spin at 7200RPM, energy saving drives at 5400RPM. But you have a server drive, those spin at 10000RPM, and yours is even the fastest at 15000RPM

It’s not often that you see real genius on UKposts. Keep doing your thing mate, whatever that may be. Genius isn’t free, it’s a friend that always needs encouragement.

How much bending can a PCB withstand before the traces on it crack and break? I'm looking at buying a high end video card that has been obviously bent, from the bent radiator fins, but not too much.

That is the way I started back in the 70's , I would salvage parts for Henpol TV Repair. They taught me parts and then how to use them. It is a great way to learn the skills needed. Ham Radio operators are doing this as well. This is wonderful to see, made my day

Thanks for the taking the time to make this video, it has sure helped me to save money and get some free components! Cheers from Tasmania Australia

Unlike the battery, a capacitor is a circuit component that temporarily stores electrical energy through distributing charged particles on (generally two) plates to create a potential difference. A capacitor can take a shorter time than a battery to charge up and it can release all the energy very quickly.

I watched this years ago when a buddy gave me an old ibanez guitar and amp. They were both gross. I cleaned the guitar up, re-stained it a darker color, painted it. You helped me step into the realm of taking an electronic apart and putting it back together with a different outcome than when started. As simple as this project was, it sparked my journey into electronics and diy. Thanks man. Youre the best! Tennertech tannertech tanner tannertech tannertech tannerHELLLOOOO!

@nickhuynh6321Місяць тому
I would add safety as well to avoid getting shocked it's a good idea to have an idea of any dangerous components... then also after extracting you might want to check if they are up to spec otherwise you'll put them into projects and later be hunting down issues and debugging for a long time...
@wilbertog58Місяць тому

I also really love desoldering components from circuit boards. You can sometimes get components that you can't easily buy or components that are expensive. I recently found an old stereo receiver dumped on the side of the road and there are lots of useful components inside.
