There’s a very easy way to always have cooked bacon ready: cook it to your desired fineness, cool, then freeze *with cling film, baking paper, or similar between the slices*. It defrosts on the counter in a few minutes (probably closer to 15 in England) and it comes out of the freezer a bit LESS cooked than when it went in, so you don’t have to account for that in the initial cooking. I use the oven method for the initial cooking, but if stove or even nuke is your thing, have at it!

They do actually have a notebook that is water resistant and the pages don't do that. My son has one, he was in the military and they had to get them for when they did drills out in nature no matter the weather. They would have tasks like keeping track of coordinates and such in those notebooks. So water couldn't erase the writing! Pretty neat!
