this is the studio version. I think the "Leon and friends" video is superior. check it out and compare and see what you think. it's more raw and heartfelt.

@@ReactionsToTheClassics When I say “best”, I don’t mean popular, I just mean they were a band that carved out their own path/sound and that other bands, like The National, emulated. What’s interesting is that it’s only a 3-piece band. Bass (2-strings only), a baritone sax, and drums. That’s it. It makes for an intensely cool soundscape. Nobody sounded like them at the time.

Yes, this is my favorite album with Bon, although Powerage is a close 2nd. And IMO it's the 2nd best album they did (a close 2nd), the best being Back in Black. I know it's not very "original" to think that Back in Black and Highway to Hell are their best albums, but I can't disagree with the (likely) majority here, these two albums really are their peak. That said, I think Powerage's "Down Payment Blues" and "Riff Raff" are actually better than many of the songs on Highway to Hell. It's just that Powerage is a little more uneven and although none of the songs on it are bad, the quality is not consistently as good as on this album.
@ReactionsToTheClassics17 годин тому
I think the reason those 2 are so acclaimed is .... well because they are great! Sometimes things are really worth the hype! Thanks for watching!

Love your Bee Gee reactions The Bee Gees were more than just disco! I’m not sure if you’ve reacted to any of these, but here’s a list with my interpretation of what genre I think they fall under: (just disregard any you’ve already reacted to) Too Much Heaven (R&B) How Deep Is Your Love (R&B Ballard) Staying Alive (disco) Night Fever (disco) You Should Be Dancing (R&B or disco) Fanny be tender with my love (R&B) Jive Talking (R&B) Nights on Broadway (R&B/Funk) Tragedy (Techno? Pop) More than a woman (Disco/R&B) Love you inside out (Funk/pop) To love somebody (R&B) Massachusetts (pop/country) Wind of Change (funk/r&b), live 1975 from the Midnight Special) Alone (pop) Love So Right (R&B) Words (pop, 1979 Spirits Tour) Lonely Days (pop) You Win Again (pop) Run to Me (pop) How Can you mend a broken heart (R&B) Kiss of Life (rock) Rest Your Love on Me Awhile (country) Bodyguard (R&B) The 1989 One for all tour medley (excellent vocals & some humor) If you want to see them (the Bee Gees) and how they work in the studio try: (A) the making of their song "Tragedy" from 1979 (B) The making of the song "Just in Case" (C) The making of the video "This is Where I Came in" from their last cd in 2001 Some that only the avid Bee Gee fans might know that you might want to react to: My Lover’s Prayer (pop ballard) Letting Go (pop ballard) Subway (R&B) You Stepped Into My life (Funk/r&b) Children of the World (pop) Search, Find (pop or R&B) Songs written by Barry Gibb (that other artists sung), alone or with his brothers (Robin &!Maurice Gibb): If I Can't Have You (Yvonne Elliman) Woman in Love ( Barbra Streisand). In fact, Gibb wrote every song on her Guilty CD, and did 2 duets with her. And he did most of the background vocals on a lot of the songs. Islands in the Stream (Kenny Rogers & Dolly Partons). In fact, Barry wrote all the songs on Kenny's "Eyes that See in the Dark" CD Heartbreaker (Deion Warwick). In fact, Barry wrote every song on this CD too. The Bee Gees also did the Background vocals. Chain Reaction (Diana Ross) and yes, Barry wrote all the songs on this CD too. Barry also did the background vocals. Immortality (Celine Dion) The Bee Gees also sung background. The live 1997 from Vegas is excellent! More Than a Woman (Tavares) Love Me (Yvonne Elliman) Come on Over (Olivia Newton John) Emotions (Samantha Sang, with a lot of background vocals with Barry). Destiny's Child also recorded it. Grease--from the movie (Frankie Valli) Heart Beating in Time (Leo Sayer) Let me wake up in your arms (Lulu), who use to be married to Maurice Gibb A lot of Andy Gibb songs (Shadow Dancing, Everlasting Love, Love is Thicker than Water, Our Love, Don't Throw It Away; Desire;)
@ReactionsToTheClassics17 годин тому
Thanks Sandra! I am aware of some of these but certainly not all, I will check them out. Some are going to appear on another top 10 Bee Gees I will be releasing in the next couple of weeks including disco!

Classic album Second best of the Bon years to me High voltage is still my favorite Nice to see you gave it to 9 it definitely is Highway to hell and Back in Black or what I call user-friendly albums for an introduction into ACDC one if you like bons voice to if you like Brian's voice sometimes it goes either way though There's quite a few that don't really like Brian's screeching. And then some love it. And you know how good this album is to shit, highway to hell played on am top 40 radio back in the day I remember when I was 10 years old our local am rock stations not hard rock stations a.m. rock stations were playing it. Everybody loved it it sounded dangerous but it wasn't.

The Paper Lace version got some airplay in the Northeast. Their version sucked ass. Some of the worst vocals ever in a pop song. The drums and whistling hark to the Civil War and "Billy" is clearly "Billy Yank", the Union counterpart to Confederate "Johnny Reb". However.... Candlewick Green's "Who Do You Think You Are" was better than Bo Donaldson's and Jigsaw's versions.

Caitlin coming through again! Love to see a new bright eyes reaction. After getting into Bright Eyes with fevers and mirrors this was the first release after that and I must have listened to this EP 1000 times when it came out. I get the critique of Conor’s vocal performance in MBS but to me it just adds to power and beauty of the song and lyrics. It’s an earful for sure but it is not as abrasive after a few hundred listens 😂 He actually just played that song live for first time in what had to be decades a week or so ago in NY and it was amazing.
