If anyone didn't know, the shell on a SATA SSD does NOTHING for the drive. The chips are not in contact with metal, so it doesn't act as a heatsink. They run cooler if you remove them from their shell, stack using brass motherboard standoffs, and mount them in your case near bottom or in path of air flow.
@aleksandrbmelnikov10 місяців тому
I don't know how your buttons come, but i had to pull mine apart. First, they connected LED directly to the switch. Then, they prewired them for 12 volts. Both of which do not work well with ATX motherboards. None of the four wires can be shared, or it won't work.
@letshobby9158010 місяців тому
This are the buttons: shopeu.dimastech.com/en/push-button-dimastech-19mm-id-alternate-action-led-color-red I didn't have any problems with the connection or the voltage. They are working very well for me.
@aleksandrbmelnikov10 місяців тому
@@letshobby91580 I see, there's pins just for LED on those. Mine came from China off of Amazon. There were only three pins on the back. No big deal. Little snip of LED legs, some soldering, and ran two wires out. Housing clicked shut nice and easy.

Epic build, definitely. What was you cost on the desk/case build itself, without the PC parts?
@letshobby9158010 місяців тому
Thanks! The pure table without any PC stuff was around 600-700 €.

Really nice build. I can imagine the time and patience it took to build it. I also built one myself, but i built the box part with wood since i didnt have all the tools that you had. Just wanted to point out a small flaw in your design. The back part where you clamped the monitors should have been separate, what i did was the back part with the power supply and all the cables were i put a black acrylic sheet where i can clamp the monitor mount, and the other parts are covered in glass, so if i need to meddle with the system's internals i can just take the glass off and get to it. But in your case you have to remove the monitor mount and then remove the glass. Just my thought, anyways awesome video and build
@letshobby9158010 місяців тому
Thank you very much! You're right. To splitt the cover was my first design idea, too. But on the one hand I got a very good offer for this glass and so it became significantly cheaper. And on the other hand the monitor mount is only screwed to the frame. So all the load is transferred to the frame and there is no stress on the glass. I have a gap of about 1mm or so between the glass and monitor mount. Taking off the glass is no problem. But In order to bring it back I just have to push the outer monitors to the back in order to increase the gap and it is done. Luckily, I don't have to get to the internals weekly. 😀 In the last mounths only once in order to install another SSD....

Should've went Threadripper. 13900k (or anything with e-cores) isn't fast enough for non-trivial simulation.

You dont need to sand the metal- Primer is for that purpose. As you should use primer anyway when painting- no time lost- better finish.
@letshobby9158010 місяців тому
You're right, but the metal was scratched from working on and I had had to remove all of my markings.
@aleksandrbmelnikov10 місяців тому
Self etching primer is what you use on aluminum (brit. aluminium), and you still have to sand it. Otherwise nothing will stick to oxide surface.

hai bro love from india south - bro 7800x3d or 7900x plz tell which one is best for me, or any suggestions - this cpu for only streaming gaming all for youtube gameplay rendering in premiere pro photoshop thats all
@letshobby91580Рік тому
If You want a lower power consumption, take the 7800X3D. Otherwise I would go with the 7900X. Here in Europe they do cost nearly the same and the 7900X is a bit more powerful.

Are you using 3 32" monitors, I've been using 3 27" with 32" up top and think 32" would be better for when I'm not using nvidia surround but worried about having to crane my neck too much left and right when multitasking
@letshobby91580Рік тому
Yes, 3x32" monitors at a 45° angle. For simulations etc. it's perfect for me. But for other apps (e.g. office) I would use about 20°.
