The creaking sound is just the door panels against the door sil, if you put grease on them they get quiet. My W126 has no creaks or squeaks or rattles with minor interior maintenence.

This is the Mercedes time period that I grew up with and adore. Doors and trunk lids that went "Thunk." Overengineered and built like a tank. Elegant and simple. Nothing for show. The car itself was proof that you had style and prestige. If a base SEL was "Kind of Blue" style of sophisticated and accessible, then this AMG is a CEO in a suit who occasionally switched up Jazz for Motorhead.

False.

@@TedwardDrives Nope. If you let the clutch up smoothly the car will match the revs well, and the wear on the clutch is absolutely tiny.

What is fancy about this, is it is a British designed sports car. It has the most focus on lightness. The power to weight ratio is mad. It also has an inspired chassis, allowing you to turn corners while driving fast. Not at all fun on a straight freeway. All that guff about the special suspension, well forget about it.

Would love to drive like this but i'm currently in NYC. I have to use the right lane to pass people because they camp in the left lane. WIsh the driving test was more rigorous with these etiquettes. Would help everyone in the long run.

@@TedwardDrives Ted, follow your own path, but I agree with deviation100. POV is your USP. I watch lots of 'dialogue to camera' car reviewers and I enjoy them, but your POV hits different. It's unique and special. It has a 'C'etait un Rendez-vous' vibe. Maybe you could end every film with you meeting a pretty girl :)

I currently own all import brand that were made in the US. I own a 2017 Accord, 2000 Sienna and a 2007 Tundra, all of which are quite reliable and refined, not so much the Tundra though. However, my first two cars were 1975 5Grand Prix and a 1973 Grand Prix both with 400 Quadrajets and throaty dual exhausts. I haven't owned either in many years but man do I miss the driving experience. They were both dogs, performance wise, got horrible gas mileage but sounded and looked great. I was constantly working on them to the point where the local parts store owner knew me by name. The thing is, they were very simple and easy to work on provided you have tools and a place to work on them. This video is quite accurate in that there is no experience quite like a classic American muscle car. The sounds they make and raw power are unique and a bit intoxicating.
