You could have just accomplished the same haircut if you would have just pulled everything into one ponytail right in the middle of your forehead, then slide the hair tie down to your desired length, then cut it. It would have layered your hair, then you could have went back in, and polished off the cut with the point cutting technique for texture.

I’m glad to see that you just went in for smaller top sections to pull straight up and point cut for the layering/feathering because I think that worked so much better for you than putting them in hair ties.
