The Bel Air came out in 1956, not 57. My family had the 56, but the 57 is iconic for it's fins.

The Hummer was one of my favourite vehicles, until I had to get along with such a car for about half a year. When it is about to get in to one of these, you have to be less than 185cm and not too fat, in order to fit. It has too tiny seats, with the transaxle in the middle of the cabin (the coffin as we used to call it) and is too wide from side to side, making your life difficult. Furthermore, in the fire of the battlefield, someone would have something too practical and simple to use, in contrast with this rock on wheels. If something malfunctions, or is non factional, either can fully stop the car from moving, or the owner will have to spend a lot of hours, tooling, machinery and of course, PILES OF MONEY, in order to get his vehicle repaired. However, it has a funky driving, with the brake discs mounted on either side of the differentials, and a lot of bouncing at full stop. It has also tremendous off road capabilities...

Yeah gotta question the accuracy of this video. His brother and father dies of Spanish flu which swept the world in 1919/20 yet then he enlists in Army for WW1 which had already ended???? Fact check mother fuckers

IOW, Louis Chevrolet had nothing to do with building the brand of car named Chevrolet. He simply sold the use of his name to what became General Motors.

Henry Ford also had a large "HR" department to "visit" their genetically and culturally inferior workers. Ford was a big promoter of eugenic "movement, and hosted many workshops and debates. Later he wanted to build a 3000 acres "living colonial museum village" in Sudbury Ma, "staffed" with Henry Ford hand picked town citizens - teachers, fireman, and actually children (no Jew no Irish, of course). Just 1 lone holdout - an Italy immigrant farmer, facing death threats, refused to sell his land for a big profit. That stopped Henry Ford from gifting the word with a big racist "statue", 3000 acres big.

TOTALLY TRAGIC! I’ve owned one and drove it until it had about 77,000 miles.. it had awesome pickup and go and I can’t imagine it being able to be stolen not only because it was a manual but you had to put it in reverse to get the key out and the key was down by the stick shift. Drove it all around the Bay Area from 97-00 Was my first car.

Harley needs to build an inexpensive motorcycle to gain young clients but we all know that's been necessary for over 20 years now. Apparently, the C.E.O. wants to offer the most expensive models instead! Maybe a replacement C.E.O. is in order for their survival?

Had a SAAB 900. Worst car of my life. Enthusiastic acceleration caused the engine to rock back and bang the A/C compressor to crash into the firewall pulling the mounting bolts out of the engine. The engine seized and had to be replaced. It had no sway bars, a "feature", and it felt like it was going to tip over around a traffic circle and made people ill. It was comfortable to sit in, but the cheap a--molded side panels being a wonder of modern Scandinavian design only a few weeks. When it was in the shop, the loaner VW Rabbit was so much better. SAAB never developed engines past the 3 cylinder. The V4 was a Ford. The inline four was a reworked Triumph. Their technological prowess is a myth created by marketing and people still believe it.

Growing up I had a neighbor, Al, an aviation engineer for GE, that bought SAABs from the 60's through the 70's. As a kid, the coolest car I had ever seen, with suicide doors, and dash mounted rearview mirror. So tiny, compared to the steel monsters US automakers were selling! This is a shame. GM bought an apple, and left it to rot.

I used to live in the UK and between 1985 and 2001 I owned four SAAB 900 Turbos, the second last being a black 900 Aero and the final model of the classic 900 shape. Then came the 'new' 900 Turbo based around the Vauxhall Cavalier floorpan, but with the option of the innovative 'Sensonic' gear change. This was a normal 5 speed manual gear change, but with no clutch pedal. I loved it. I bought the car new in 1994 and, 6 months later, took it Abbot Racing in Suffolk to be chipped and have the the suspension modified. I loved driving it and it never let me down once. I gave the car to my son in 2001 and bought a Honda S2000. I now live in a remote area of southwest France and, amazingly, there are two SAAB 900 convertibles in the area; I saw one of them just yesterday 🙂

In the 1980s, the 900S had 55 horepower per liter; the 900 Turbo, 68. Back then, those numbers were class-leading. I once saw an all-black 900 Turbo with smoked glass and black wheels, driven by a pretty Black woman. I'll never forget her vanity license plate: "I BITE".

In a 1980s review of the Saab 900S or 900 Turbo, a U.S. automotive magazine began (I'm paraphrasing), "According to Saab research, the 900's typical U.S. driver is a 38-year-old college professor who wears a tweed sportjacket and is on his second marriage."

Good documentary, but a bit muddled in places. The Saab 9000 would never share a platform with any GM car, neither was it based on the Lancia Delta.
